2. Ilocos Region is composed of four provinces—
Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and
Pangasinan; and of nine cities—Alaminos, Batac,

Economy in the region is anchored both on
agriculture and agro-industrial sectors. Its
provinces are famous for agro-industrial
businesses such as milkfish (bangus) cultivation
and processing, livestock raising, fish paste
(bagoong) processing, among others. Income in
the Ilocos provinces also come from cultivating
rice, tobacco, corn, sugarcane, and fruits; and

THE SAINT AUGUSTINE CHURCH
Completed in 1710, the church is famous

collective group of Baroque Churches of
the Philippines in 1993.

CAPE BOJEADOR LIGHTHOUSE
Also known as Burgos Lighthouse, is
a cultural heritage structure in
Burgos, Ilocos Norte, that was
established during the Spanish
Colonial period in the Philippines.

30, 1892, and is set high on Vigia de
Nagpartian Hill overlooking the
scenic Cape Bojeador where early
galleons used to sail by.

THE PATAPAT VIADUCT
Also known as Patapat Bridge, is a
viaduct at the municipality of
Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, a coastal
resort town on the northernmost tip of
Luzon Island in the Philippines. The

level. It is a concrete coastal bridge 1.3
km long and connects the Maharlika
Highway from Ilocos Region to
Cagayan Valley.

HUNDRED ISLANDS
The islands are believed to be about
two million years old. There are
actually ancient corals that extend well
inland, in an area previously
comprising the seabed of an ancient
sea. The lowering of the sea level have
exposed them to the surface. The

some of the islands were caused by
the eroding action of ocean waves.

THE SAINT JAMES THE GREAT
PARISH CHURCH
Is a Spanish colonial church located at Brgy.
Germinal in Bolinao, Pangasinan,
Philippines. Also locally known as Bolinao
Church, it traces its history way back to 400
years. . This wonderful man-made structure
has stood the test of time, surviving major
disasters. It suffered a heavy damage by
Typhoon Emong, in 2009. Additionally, there
is a history of earthquake in 1788 and
accidental burn in 1819.
