Chimco AD is a specialised nitrogen fertiliser manufacturer. Chimco ceased production on January 28, 2003 due to financial problems and was placed under receivership by the Vratsa Regional Court in December 2002. The company has more than BGN 150 mln debts in outstanding gas and electricity utility payments as well as in social security contributions. Currently two restructuring plans have been submitted by Novo Chimco AD and Bulgarian majority shareholder Inter Rao AD. A creditors' meeting scheduled for July 25, 2005 will vote on one of the restructuring plans. Novo Chimco AD is a subsidiary of Swiss chemicals and fertiliser manufacturer Indagro SA. Currently Novo Chimco AD operates the Chimco urea plant under lease. The company is listed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
