An oblique drawing shows one view of an object without distortion by drawing receding surfaces at an angle. It is similar to an isometric drawing except two axes are perpendicular in an oblique drawing. There are three types of oblique drawings: cavalier oblique draws receding sides at true size, cabinet oblique scales them at half size, and general oblique uses two-thirds scale. To create an oblique drawing, one sets the axes, constructs guide boxes, transfers views, connects points to complete the object, then finalizes it by darkening lines and erasing extras.
