2. Being attentive helps me stay informed.
Although my mind sometimes wanders, I realize the importance of paying attention
and remaining in the moment. When I am attentive, I gain information that can
either help me now or impact my future in powerful ways.
Being attentive to the people around me and to my environment helps me stay
informed and safe.
I am mindful of my environment, which can make the difference between feelings of
dissatisfaction with my day as opposed to experiencing one of my best days ever.
Being aware of situations like weather factors, traffic issues, and community
events ensures I have a productive day.
Focusing on what others say and do teaches me about life.
My neighbor may make small talk about certain chores he has to complete around
his house. I take it in and "file" the information away for a time when I plan to work
on my own home.
A friend calls to describe a personal crisis and I listen to her words. I reflect on
what occurs and ponder my friend's situation. I ask myself what I can learn from
her experience. When I pay attention, I gain wisdom and knowledge.
I am steadfast and focused in my efforts to pay attention.
Today, I pay close attention to what is going on around me and what others are
saying. I live an informed life because I am aware of my environment, the situations
that occur, and the people around me.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. How well do I pay attention?
2. Do I pay attention to everyday happenings, like the weather and traffic, to
determine how it might affect my day before I set out to work or shop?
3. If I find myself wanting to be more attentive in a situation, what should I do?

3. Every experience teaches me something new.
Everything I do in life is an opportunity to learn something new. All that I encounter
teaches me more about myself and the world around me.
I seek out a variety of experiences. Keeping an open mind allows me to see things
from a fresh perspective. I enjoy talking with people whose ideas differ from my
own.
Whether I travel to exotic destinations or even remain in my own backyard, I can
always discover something unique.
By recognizing patterns, I am able to understand my behavior better and identify
areas where I want to make positive changes.
I develop specific plans of action. This enables me to transform what I learn into
tangible improvements. I focus on taking steps that are realistic for me to follow.
Setting definite timelines helps me to measure my progress.
I am more interested in long term achievements than overnight success. I look
beyond temporary setbacks and take satisfaction in my efforts.
This learning process fills me with a sense of excitement and builds my self-
confidence.
My life is enriched and I feel more fulfilled. I am like an eternal student who loves to
study.
Today, I am determined to gain new knowledge and sharpen my skills. I welcome
every moment that contributes to my learning and growth.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. What value do I place on learning?
2. What would be the best time of day for me to regularly set aside to focus on
developing specific plans of action?
3. What types of experiences offer me the most useful information?

4. I admit my mistakes.
Every day, I encounter situations when things go differently than I hope.
Sometimes, I firmly believe that what I am doing is the right thing to do. However, I
sometimes choose an incorrect action. I make mistakes and that is a fact. And
when I do, I acknowledge it right away.
Although it is challenging to admit to my mistakes, I know that it is ultimately the
easiest path to follow.
Any struggle I experience regarding my error is quickly relieved upon stating that I
made a mistake. I am free from the stress of trying to keep the secret of my
misstep.
In a sense, admitting to my errors cleanses me emotionally. I start with a clean
slate when I fully accept I make a mistake. I concentrate each day on doing the
best I can with the knowledge that when I err, I have an opportunity to start
again.
My life improves beyond measure because I recognize my personal mistakes to
myself and others. When I do, it brings the freedom to go forward in life and pursue
my passions. Also, I experience feelings of renewal and hope as I admit to my
errors.
Today, I know I can acknowledge my mistakes. I realize it is to my benefit to do so.
I embrace my mistakes so I can learn valuable information from them.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. How honest and open am I in my efforts to admit my errors?
2. Do I admit to my mistakes? How does it feel? Do I admit them swiftly?
3. What can I do to be more willing to admit my errors?

5. The experiences of others teach me wisdom.
I know that knowledge comes from experience, and I respect the knowledge gained
by those who have past experiences I can learn from.
I take every chance I get to garner wisdom from those who are already personally
familiar with situations similar to mine.
I know that in my job, there is a lot that I can learn to shape me into the
professional I want to be. I place a lot of merit on theoretical knowledge, but I also
recognize that real-life situations help to mold my professional position.
When it comes to child-rearing, I am humbled by the feedback I receive from my
parents or other adults who have been parents and grandparents before me. I
want the chance to raise my children in my own way, but I also respect that the
experiences of others can help along the way.
If I am in the position where I need to make a tough decision, I seek advice from
others who may have some valuable knowledge from similar issues. I listen to their
circumstances and the outcome of their situations, and use them as a guide to
make my own choices.
Today, I maintain complete respect for wiser, more experienced people. I know that
with a combination of their advice and my forthright thinking, I can make positive
choices. I also know that learning from their experiences makes me a stronger and
wiser person myself.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. Do I acknowledge the advice I receive from those wiser than me?
2. How can I help others to make sound decisions based on what I've learned?
3. When do I reject the advice of others?

6. Winning for me means learning a lesson from
every outcome.
I am victorious in everything I set out to do because I strive to learn a lesson from
every outcome. I am content with the reality that winning is more about what I am
able to take away from a race than actually crossing the finish line first.
I know it is normal to feel disappointed when I am unable to finish first. I
sometimes experience feelings of dissatisfaction, especially when I know I have
worked hard at a task.
However, I avoid allowing those feelings to consume me. Instead, I take a moment
to consider the lesson which I am taking away from the experience.
I am reminded that there is a time and place for everything, including victory.
I am content with the fact that crossing the line in second or third place says very
little about my ability and a great deal about my potential and perseverance.
I learn the value of hard work after I cross the finish line, regardless of the
position. I stop for a moment and consider whether I could have put forth a little
more effort. I affirm that there is always room for improvement.
Today, I believe that I am a more rounded person because I allow myself to learn
the lessons life intends for me to learn. I am more gracious about victory because I
have learned what it truly means to be victorious.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. When I am overlooked for a promotion, do I sometimes feel cheated?
2. Do lessons always show themselves to me or do I need to search for them
myself?
3. How many times have I shared the blessing from a lesson with my loved ones?

7. I am raising the bar on self-education, self-talk,
and self-development.
My inner motivation is leading me to self-improvement on a whole new level. I
actively seek out new sources of inspiration and positivity. I devote time each day
to learning new ways to ignite my passions and propel me toward success.
I find that the Internet is a literal cornucopia of resources that allow me to
improve myself with every possible medium - and it is available to me right in my
own home!
The inspirational audios, videos, eBooks, reports, published interviews with
experts, seminars, affirmations, and even inspirational desktop wallpapers provide
me with self-education, self-talk, and self-development at the click of a mouse.
I can find anything I want to learn about, taught by some of the best experts on
the planet!
My self-talk is filled with an abundance of positive statements for every situation.
Negative thoughts and attitudes get dispelled the moment they try to show their
ugly head!
Self-development is a priority in my schedule. I am sure to reserve some time each
day to learn new skills, develop new talents, and discover new challenges to expand
my limits.
I strengthen my skills in stress reduction and joyful living. I find new ways to
enable fulfilment. I keep up with the latest health news and I practice everything I
learn. My self-improvement time is time well spent.
Today, I plan to start a new strategy of learning one new skill each day and
developing them fully to receive their best benefits for my life.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. When was the last time I did research simply to learn something for myself?
2. Do I use affirmations on a regular basis to erase my negativity and self-doubt?
3. Have I included time in my schedule for self-development?

8. I am grateful for all that I have.
When I reflect on everything I possess, I realize that my riches are bountiful.
Sometimes, I ask myself how I became so lucky. From my home, to the company I
keep, to my job, my life is full of many things that bring me joy, intrigue, and
sustenance.
I reside in a home that is comfortable and beckons me after a hard day at work.
Everything and everyone I love seems to welcome me as I step through the door. I
am instantly replenished when I arrive at my humble abode.

have in my life.
My loved ones are accepting of both my strengths and weaknesses. My partner
understands me, and my relatives are helpful and supportive whenever I need
them. My friends are there to celebrate my successes.
My work sustains me. The projects I work on pique my interest. I am so fortunate
to get paid for doing what I love. When it comes to my work, I can ask for nothing
more.
Today, I take inventory of the people, places, and things I am thankful for. It is
important to acknowledge everything I have in this life. I am grateful for my
multitude of riches.
Self-Reflection Questions:

9. I appreciate being alive and am thankful for
today.
I celebrate today. Regardless of what is happening in my life, I am alive and for this
I am thankful.
When I feel like today leaves something to be desired, I focus on anything I can be
thankful for.
I find a part of my body that I am able to connect with and appreciate that it is
there.
I pay attention to my senses and focus on one that resonates with me. I channel all
of my energy through that sense and am thankful for having it.
When I am with friends and family, I feel thankful that I am alive and here to talk
with them. When I am outside, I take in my wonderful surroundings as I experience
nature and am so glad that I am here to experience this beauty.
I savor every breath that I take and rejoice in being alive.
Sometimes, I focus on basic things that I might have taken for granted in the past.
While these things may be basic, they are also the most important and vital for my
survival.

11. I experience gratitude daily.
Thankfulness comes naturally to me. I know that I am blessed and I see my life
through that lens. Remembering this brings me joy, and I like to feel that emotion,
so I choose to experience gratitude daily!
I am thankful for the wonderful people who surround me. They provide me with
companionship, nurturance, and intellectual stimulation. I grow because of them. In
turn, I give the same to them, and I take joy in doing so. I seek out their company
and remember frequently to tell them how much I appreciate their presence in my
life.
My material possessions are also abundant.
I live in a world of plenty and I am grateful for all of the opportunities I have in the
physical realm. All of my needs are met and many of my wants, too. Daily, I choose
to experience gratitude for the material abundance in my life.
If I ever begin to wish things are different from the way they are, I honor that
feeling. I see all of my desires and longings as teachers. They are a road map for
my life, pointing my way. Even for these sometimes challenging experiences, I feel
thankful. I learn from each one of them.
Because of my overflowing gratitude, I always feel relaxed and happy. After all,
things are good in my life, and I know it!
Today, I allow my natural thankfulness to blossom. I see each experience as an
opportunity for more gratitude and greater joy. And I make a point of finding the
best in every situation.

12. I give thanks daily for my focus in life.
I am confident in my ability to achieve my goals. Each day, I live with presence and
conviction and, therefore, make good on my dreams. For this, I am intensely
grateful.
I know that I can have what I want! All I need to do is focus. I put forth my
intention and my dreams and desires are made manifest.
Focus is the biggest secret to my success. I pay close attention to what I want
and then devote my energy to accomplishing my dreams.
Sometimes, achieving my goals requires greater effort than at other times. When
this is the case, I am particularly thankful for my focus. Sustained effort requires
motivation and motivation requires remembering why I am willing to put in some
hard work. But when I focus on my goals, motivation comes easily.
If I feel distracted or scattered, I take a few moments to close my eyes and just
breathe. I notice the sensations of my feet on the floor and my hands resting on my
lap.
This simple exercise renews my focus by bringing me into the present moment. And
when I am fully present, I feel gratitude for where I am and how far I have come.
Today, I make time to contemplate my many accomplishments. I am thankful for my
focus in life, which enables me to have all that I want.
I seek out opportunities to cultivate this gratitude by paying attention to my
deepest desires and pursuing them devotedly.

13. I give thanks for 10 things each day.
There is so much that I am thankful for. As I lie in bed each morning, my mind
instantly starts to run through all that I can say 'thanks' about.
I know that I could spend all day listing the many things that spark my gratitude,
but instead I focus on 10 things each day.
When I open my eyes and see the sun peeping through the cracks in the window, I
give thanks for a new day. As I wiggle my toes and stretch my fingers, I am
grateful for having them to help me do good things for others.
I find meaning in the simple occurrences of each day. As I wait on the traffic light
to turn green, I am thankful for the opportunity to say a kind word or give a kind
gesture to another road user.
Although I can easily find 10 different things to be grateful for each day, I always
include thanks for loved ones and the opportunity to live right with others. I
recognize that people around me who show me love help to make life worth living. I
also recognize that having the opportunity to show love to others is something I am
meant to do.
