2. What would happen if...What would happen if...
I am sure you have heard of the “comfortzone.” It is not something you can
see, or touch, but it is something you know you have. It is that area in your life
that keeps you from going from good to great! It is where you feel
comfortable, where everything is “ok” but where you will never progress to the
next level.
You know you want to do things but just can’t because of the comfort zone
“thing.” You stop yourself doing something that might be exciting, that might
lead to greater things.
If you can break out of the prison of your comfort zone life is going to be so
much more enjoyable, albeit a bit challenging!
Here are my top tips for breaking through and moving out of your
comfort zone
Realize that staying in your comfort zone stops you from growing – You
know when you first go to the gym and you can’t stretch out properly? It is
tough and difficult, but then you start to stretch and it becomes easier?
Suddenly you become more flexible.
Well this happens with your comfort zone too. The more you push out of it the
more you will take on new challenges,
the more opportunities you will seize and the more you will grow. In a nutshell
it is a win-win situation!
Change your routine and change your opportunities – Don’t be afraid to do
things differently. Start small – instead of going to your regular coffee shop,
why not try a new one? Maybe you will meet someone new

Perhaps the coffee will be nicer, or their will be a cute waiter or waitress! Who
knows!
Make an effort to make a change – Let’s be honest here, in order to make a
change you have to put in some effort. Let’s say you want to change job.
That takes effort. You have to fix up your resume, start to sign up for job
boards, get ready for interviews etc.
If all that sounds like too much work then you are not ready to move out of your
comfort zone! Realize that it takes work and effort but it is worth it!
Seek out like minded people – When you decide to make a change it is a
good idea to find other like minded people. For example you want to change
job? Why not seek out a group that can help you with public speaking, or that
do mock interviews.
There are many sites that can help you find such groups. But remember it is
up to you to make the effort!
Bring a friend! – When you decide to move out of comfort zone, let a friend
know and get them to join you! It will be a fun activity for both, and not only
are you helping yourself but you are helping your friend too!
Being with someone you know will make the transition so much easier and put
you at ease.

Think of the challenge as an adventure – Making a change is a challenge
and an adventure. It is exciting, exhilarating and scary, but embrace these
feelings and don’t worry! You are going to be fine. Look at it this way. It is
better to try than not to. After all you are going to get feedback and learn
something new.
Sure maybe your new adventure will not go as well as you thought, but hey,
now you know you are no longer afraid, and you can refocus and seek out your
next challenge.
Remember them ore you challenge yourself the easier it gets.
Think back on times when you didn’t believe you could do something and look
at you now! You have done so many things in your life that you never thought
possible but you succeed! Always remember this.
The most important thing is that you decide to take action and do something.
Forget about procrastination and thinking you won’t be able to do something.
You can and will do it.
When you escape your comfort zone you are going to feel amazing. Of
course you will have moments where you are not sure what is going on, of if
you are going to succeed, but that is a normal feeling so don’t worry.

The more you move out off our comfort zone the better you are going to feel,
and the more you will keep moving. The less you do the more comfortable you
will get being in this state. Thus by not breaking out of your comfort zone you
are stopping yourself from growing!
