“So, during those first moments of the day, which are yours and yours alone, you can
circumvent these boundaries and concentrate fully on spiritual matters. And this gives you the
opportunity to plan the time management of the entire day” (Schneerson, 2016). The
psychoanalytical, biological, and humanistic perspectives of behavior provide an analysis of the
personality of Rebbe; however, it is the humanistic perspective that provides the best analysis.
Lubavitcher Rebbe is a wonderful example of self-actualization. Not only did he feed his own
soul, he fed the atmosphere of many others. We can be secure that because of the Rebbe, few
souls in his care were "starved for nourishment [and left] ...with feelings of emptiness, anxiety, or
learning" (Schneerson, n.d., para. 5). What kind of person focuses on the nourishment of the
soul? Menachem Mendel Schneerson, known as the Lubavitcher Rebbe, was that type of person.
Rebbe had a fascinating personality well worth exploring (Reece,2016).

Biography
The Lubavitcher Rebbe was born in 1902 a Ukrainian and lived in the city of Nikolaev. The
Lubavitcher Rebbe had many challenges in Czarist Russia as the Rebbe’s community was
harassed for their religion. Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson the chief Rabbi of Yekatrinislav was
a great role model for the Rebbe. When Russian authorities harassed the Schneerson household.
The Rebbe very young knew to quite the younger children so to protect them. The Rebbe would
have inspired community outreach that sent the neighborhood into song and dance.
World War 1 The Rebbe and his family did their part taking care of refugees fleeing anti-
semantic prosecution. The Schneerson family showed the Lubavitcher Rebbe about heartache
and how to help your fellow. He was affected by the eyes of the cold exiles escaping the realities.
The Rebbe touched the souls of feeling so deep and articulated togetherness. This would provide
relief for millions of Jew called the Lubavitcher movement. Breaking through Czarist Russia the
Rebbe was now free of the iron curtain but now handed a label by the new Communist regime
the (Yevsekzia).
On November 28 the Rebbe was to marry the healthy young beautiful Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe started the Chassidic movement in the US and around the world. This
helps bring the Jewish perspective to understand women's legitimacy in Judaism. The Rebbe was
a loving, brave, firm, good nature, righteous man. He lived to serve the community as a whole,
not just the Jewish part. He left the world with the idea that Jews can live and get along
anywhere in the world.
The Rebbe was creative about Judaism and friendly, diligent, enthusiastic, emotional, discreet.
Most of all The Lubavitcher Rebbe was a humble Jew that loved people. There are Chabad
houses across the world that support the communication divide that haunts many neighborhoods.

The Rebbes life should reflect the follow expressional words. The Rebbe brought down a
definition of positivity, a philosophical message to loving the children and respect.

Psychoanalytic Theories
Sigmund Freud developed the theory that every person is understood through three types of
behavioral markers. First is one's identification than their ego and third a superego. This
completes the general personality traits of a person in development from birth. The Rebbe’s
parents knew Jewish mysticism or Kalabbah. This helped him develop a strong ego from an early
age.
The Rebbe could actual see why self-gratification was, in fact, like charity. His ego was so
motivated to do acts of kindness that the conscience guided his choices (Ewen, 2003).
The need for learning was so influential and active from birth as a witness by his mother that
was overwhelmed by his emotional intelligence. Erik Erikson (1902-1994) capitalized on Feud
theory by giving eight specific categories for personality development.
With the Rebbe, it is the autonomy that would mold his personality into being a great and well-
balanced spiritual leader. As the Rebbe grow up he experienced what it be like to fail as a Jew.
The Rebbe pulled himself out of the darkness of self-doubt and shame. Czarist Russia was not
for the weak as this motto was echoed throughout the communities and Jewish homes.
SIGNATURE ASSIGNMENT 8 7
Epigenesist
This theory states the development of the embryo and furthermore pointing out that the
environment can be an influence before birth. In the Rebbe life and in the Jewish Oral tradition it
is of most importance that learning the Torah starts before birth. Rabbis before him had done this
and it dates back to 6th of Sivan 2448 (1313BCE) at the revelation at Mt.Sinai. The Rebbe’s
personality was kept clean. This would institute the rest of the surrounding environment to
practice kosher purity laws. Education in the Rebbes life is survival even before he was born and
all this happens in a cycle of stages (Statt,1998).
Biologically the science of these steps was not just a matter of syntax and diagnosis. This
was a spiritual system that was working and was encouraged to practice because of the
philosophy. Teaching a fertilized egg to read or respond, plus interaction with the baby was the
Jewish life. The Rebbe matured in the right way backed with corresponding unique parents that
reinforced observational behaviors.
SIGNATURE ASSIGNMENT 8 8
Humanistic Aspect of Personality
Carl Rogers theory of self-consciousness challenged the past behavioral theories of
personalities traits. This theory explains that even though the Rebbe would have gratification in
feelings like, self-control, seriousness, politeness, respectfulness that is a realization. Freud
would say this would be a procedural motive personality trait. The Rebbe repeatedly would apply
self-actualization to bring other Jews to higher levels of education. The marker in the Rebbe’s
life that defined what self-actualization really meant was an introspection of events.
Abraham H. Maslow soon established the theory of Self-Actualization (Ewen, 2003).
This was to give a shape to what self-achievement really feels like. The Rebbe visualized the
hierarchy of human needs from the top down. The Rebbe was a servant to the community and in
doing so had built his reputation as being genuine. The Rebbe had a positive dialogue that came
from a place that was unexplainable. When someone is to define love, spirituality, pitfalls,
kindness it comes from a memory of that word.
The Rebbe said that sometimes a human cannot explain all the activity in the world. More
in the meaning is how his personality grouped people together with such simplicity. The reward
of Lubavitcher Rebbe message was like a light coming to light others for security. It was the
message of self-actualization that the Jewish people are needed even as far back as the first
civilizations of the world. When Kol Israel was together and happy he was thinking about how
the world needs assistance.
The experience of the cognition of the humanistic theory can be noticeable in the Rebbe.
The Rebbe succeeded into the first basis of love for his cause. The deficiency was always part of
the Rebbe’s life, he strived to always do more. He grew into a eupsychian lifestyle that was the

laws of Jewish life. The hierarchy of needs was agreeable and appropriate as the Rebbe was self-
aware. The Instruction needs he had saved the lives of Jews all over the world.
The Rebbe saved a young man from drowning if it was not for this need it would not
have happened. Meta-needs where the Rebbe self-actualization involves a greater love for laws,
guidelines, charities. The Rebbe would hand out dollars bills to all his fellow neighbors and
Jewish followers. Peak experience was the Rebbe’s state of mind during the six-day war as he
played a key role in its win. The Rebbe, reached Self-actualization when he would have his
services on Yom Kippur.
SIGNATURE ASSIGNMENT 8 10
The sparks of progression
In the time where the Rebbe was at his best was when he was a leader of conventional
wisdom. The Lubavitcher Rebbe was a light to the Jewish people in 770 Crown Heights USA.
Overall The Lubavitcher Rebbe offered the proper offerings from every faucet of life. He handed
out the dollar the would be blessed for the future. The Rebbe’s smile would change a whole day
into a song of happiness. The Rebbe believe in the good in the nature of people and work on
spreading that idea.
