An online tutor has several key tasks, including interacting with students, providing feedback, building a sense of presence, being available to work long hours, and not getting discouraged. Some of the challenges they may face are students acting as "lurkers" who do not actively engage, but the same basic facilitation skills used in person can be applied online. Monitoring student progress and finding ways to encourage engagement are also important roles.

2. Online tutors have a great deal of tasks. In a
very concise way, and based on the What

are items that have caught my attention
• Be there, interact
• Give feedback/immediacy

• Be ready to go the extra mile, work long
hours
AND, FINALLY …
• Don’t get discouraged!

we can establish rapport online!!

6. It’s for a good cause though!

actively as we would like ... We have to find strategies to
avoid that, which might be not so easy. Or not?

am feeling:

experienced facilitators face-to-face are so
scared for an online process. And then
suddenly they see they can use the same
