4. AIDS
Human immunodeficiency virus infection and acquired immune

6. INFLUENZA
Influenza, commonly known as "the flu", is an infectious disease
caused by an influenza virus.

7. Symptoms of Influenza
1.Fever or feeling feverish/chills.
2.Cough.
3.Sore throat.
4. Runny or stuffy nose.
5.Muscle or body aches.
6.Headaches.
7.Fatigue (tiredness)
Treatment
1.Stay at home
2.Get plenty of rest
3.Drink a lot of liquids
4.Do not smoke or drink alcohol
5.Consider over-the-counter medications to relieve flu symptoms
6.Consult a physician early on for best possible treatment
7.Remain alert for emergency warning signs

8. CHRONIC HEPATITIS
Hepatitis is a disease of the liver characterized by the presence
of inflammatory cells in the tissue of the organ

9. Symptoms of Chronic Hepatitis
1.Fatigue
2.Upset stomach
3.Drop in appetite
4.Joint and muscle pain
5.Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes)
6.Dark yellow urine
7.Bleeding or bruising easily
Treatment
1.Hepatitis B and C. If chronic hepatitis B or C is worsening or if liver
2.enzyme levels are high, people are usually given antiviral drugs.
3.Hepatitis E, Ribavirin appears to be an effective treatment for chronic
4.hepatitis E.
5.Autoimmune hepatitis.
6.Treatment of complications.
7.Liver transplantation.

10. PNEUMONIA
Pneumonia is an inflammatory condition of the lung affecting
primarily the microscopic air sacs known as alveoli. Pneumonia
is usually caused by infection with viruses or bacteria and less
commonly by other microorganisms.

11. Symptoms of Pneumonia
1.Fever, sweating and shaking chills.
2.Cough, which may produce phlegm.
3.Chest pain when you breathe or cough.
4.Shortness of breath.
5.Fatigue.
6.Nausea,vomiting or diarrhoea.
Treatment
There is no known efficacious treatment for pneumonia caused by SARS
coronavirus, adenovirus, hantavirus, or H1N1 virus, treatment is largely
supportive.

12. RABIES
Rabies is a viral disease that causes acute inflammation of the
brain in humans and other mammals.

13. Symptoms of Rabies
1.Fever
2.Headache
3.Nausea
4.Vomiting
5.Agitation
6.Anxiety
7.Difficulty swallowing
8.Excessive salivation
9.Hallucinations
Treatment
1.Clean Wound
2.Stop Bleeding
3.The person may require a tetanus shot, depending on
the date of the last shot.

14. BRONCHIOLITIS
Bronchiolitis is inflammation of the bronchioles, the smallest air
passages of the lungs. It usually occurs in children less than
two years of age with the majority being aged between three
and six months.

15. Symptoms of Bronchiolitis
1.Runny nose
2.Congestion
3.Cough
4.Low grade fever
5.Difficulty breathing
6.Wheezing
Treatment
1.Drink plenty of fluids
2.Keep the air moist
3.Smoke-free environment
4.Relieving a fever
5.Saline nasal drops

16. CROUP
Croup is a type of respiratory infection that is usually caused by
a virus.

17. Symptoms of Croup
1.A bark-like cough
2.A hoarse or croaky voice
3.Difficulty breathing
4.Sore throat
5.Runny nose
6.Cough
7.High temperature (fever)
Treatment
1.Children with croup are generally kept as calm as possible
2.Children with oxygen saturations under 92% should receive oxygen
and those with severe croup may be hospitalized for observation

18. COMMON COLD
Common cold, also known simply as a cold, is a viral
infectious disease of the upper respiratory tract that primarily
affects the nose

1.Coughing
2.Sore throat
3.Runny nose
4.Sneezing
5.Headache
6.Fever
Treatment
1.Pain relievers
2.Decongestant nasal sprays
3.Cough syrups

20. CHICKEN POX
Chickenpox, also known as varicella, is a highly contagious
disease caused by the initial infection with varicella zoster
virus

21. Symptoms of Chicken pox
1.The most commonly recognised chickenpox symptom is a spotty
blistering red rash that can cover the entire body
2.Feeling sick
3.Headache
4.Fever
5.Painful muscles
Treatment
1.Painkillers
2.Keeping hydrated
3.Stop the scratching
4.Cool clothing

22. PHARYNGITIS
Pharyngitis is the inflammation of the pharynx, a region in the
back of the throat.

23. Symptoms of Pharyngitis
1.Sore throat
2.Fever
3.Sneezing
4.Fatigue
5.Body aches
6.Swollen tonsils
7.Liver inflammation
Treatment
1.Drink warm liquids such as lemon tea or tea with honey
2.Gargle several times a day with warm salt water
3.Drink cold liquids or suck on frozen fruit- flavoured ice pops.
