Production Process Evaluation
Research
• The strengths of my research was to look at what types of fonts do they
use for there game. What type of theme I want for my game, whether or
not if I want it to be a platform game. How my game shall be laid out. This
helped me by using the colour pallet and exploring different types of
colours that matches against one another. Exploring different character
designs for my game.
The weaknesses of my research was exploring different types of design
for the background of my game. Trying to explore different sounds for my
game that are based off Halloween. I could of used a better background
design for my game, also coming up with some Halloween designs for the
enemies. The effects that this would have had on my product would be a
better design for the background of my game and also better enemies
designs.
Planning
• The strengths of my planning was to find existing products and compare it
to the game that I am making. Looking at colours that will go together for
my game. Creating a schedule by adding the days and what designs I will
be doing on those specific days. This helped me by creating some slides
and adding images of colours that I will be using, the colours that I will be
using, the schedule for when I’m going to get my game done by and more.
• The weaknesses of my planning was to come up with different font
designs seeing as my game will be based on a Halloween theme. Also
coming up with a Halloween design for the background of my game. What
I could have done better was to come up with a better Halloween design
for the background of my product. This would have changed my game by
adding more details to the background and also including more enemies/
better designs for the enemies.
Time Management
• Yes I have managed my time well, I have completed some of my
documents at home since there was no college day on Tuesday. I checked
through my work to make sure that everything was up to date. I
completed my product before the day it was meant to be completed. The
way I finished my product on time was looking back at my planning
document and also looking back at my time schedule.
• I would of created a better design for my background of the game, I would
of included a Halloween design for the background of my game. I would
have had better character designs for my character and the enemies. I
would of include better background music for my game. I would have
made more blocks for my character to jump on.
Technical Qualities
The red hearts I
thought would go very
well with the black
background of my
design. These two
colours work perfectly.
The black
background design I
thought goes with
the red colours
(hearts and text).
This design I thought would be useful for the
games objective. You would have to collect 3 coins
to fill the jar to progress onto the next level.
This is my characters Halloween look and I
thought that a ghost would go very well
seeing as my game will be Halloween theme.
This is my enemy
design I thought
that this design
turned out pretty
good, if I had
more time I
would make my
enemy design
look a bit more
detailed.

Strengths:
Coming up with different design for the characters and the
hearts. Putting different colours together.
Weakness:
Coming up with a better background design for my game.
Adding more enemies and adding more details to my enemies.
What I like about my product is that I was creative. I thought
that the final product looked amazing. I liked the texture of the
tree.
Audience Appeal

How have you appealed to your target
audience?
I have appealed to my target audience by
making the game look family related. I made
this game suitable for 12+. I made sure that
there weren’t any weapons in this game. I
made sure that there wasn’t any violence in
this game.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1- Chris D
• What did you like about the product?
• I like the use of colours. The red and blue have a good contrast that
makes the important parts of the level stand out.
• The soundtrack and sound effects gave the game a bit of life which
was good.
•
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• Maybe extra levels could have been shown off to give a sense of
variety.
• The background is also a bit lacking and may have benefitted from
more detail and objects.
Feedback 2- Hayden L
• What did you like about the product?
• The things that I liked about your product is the music that has
been used and I also like how the jar in the middle counts when you
collect the things.
•
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• The improvements that you could have included would be making
more levels.
Feedback 3- Chelsea C
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked how bright a colourful the game is. The sound effects
matched the theme of the game. The shading of the tree give it
a nice atmosphere and adds to the aesthetic of the game.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
• I feel that the background music doesn't really suit the style
of the game. I think that it could have had a lower volume
so that we could hear the sound effects more clearly.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
• I agree to lower the background volume to hear
the sound effects when the character jumps
(example).
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
• Finding it tricky to come up with a background
design for my game.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What changes would you make to your product based upon your peer feedback and why?
I would lower the volume so that you can hear the sound effects- jump (example). I would
come up with a better background design for my game maybe a Halloween design since my
game is a Halloween theme game. I would also find a better background music for my game
because this music in the background sounds a bit off. I would also include more levels for my
game to make my game more interesting. Although making more levels may take a bit of time
and I would have to be weary to keep to my time schedule, but when I make a game next time
I will make more levels and each level will have different designs to the background, to the
enemies and to the blocks that my character will be jumping on. Also on each level will have
different modes which are (Easy/Normal/Hard).

7. evaluation (interactive)

  • 3. Research • The strengths of my research was to look at what types of fonts do they use for there game. What type of theme I want for my game, whether or not if I want it to be a platform game. How my game shall be laid out. This helped me by using the colour pallet and exploring different types of colours that matches against one another. Exploring different character designs for my game. The weaknesses of my research was exploring different types of design for the background of my game. Trying to explore different sounds for my game that are based off Halloween. I could of used a better background design for my game, also coming up with some Halloween designs for the enemies. The effects that this would have had on my product would be a better design for the background of my game and also better enemies designs.
  • 4. Planning • The strengths of my planning was to find existing products and compare it to the game that I am making. Looking at colours that will go together for my game. Creating a schedule by adding the days and what designs I will be doing on those specific days. This helped me by creating some slides and adding images of colours that I will be using, the colours that I will be using, the schedule for when I’m going to get my game done by and more. • The weaknesses of my planning was to come up with different font designs seeing as my game will be based on a Halloween theme. Also coming up with a Halloween design for the background of my game. What I could have done better was to come up with a better Halloween design for the background of my product. This would have changed my game by adding more details to the background and also including more enemies/ better designs for the enemies.
  • 5. Time Management • Yes I have managed my time well, I have completed some of my documents at home since there was no college day on Tuesday. I checked through my work to make sure that everything was up to date. I completed my product before the day it was meant to be completed. The way I finished my product on time was looking back at my planning document and also looking back at my time schedule. • I would of created a better design for my background of the game, I would of included a Halloween design for the background of my game. I would have had better character designs for my character and the enemies. I would of include better background music for my game. I would have made more blocks for my character to jump on.
  • 6. Technical Qualities The red hearts I thought would go very well with the black background of my design. These two colours work perfectly. The black background design I thought goes with the red colours (hearts and text). This design I thought would be useful for the games objective. You would have to collect 3 coins to fill the jar to progress onto the next level. This is my characters Halloween look and I thought that a ghost would go very well seeing as my game will be Halloween theme. This is my enemy design I thought that this design turned out pretty good, if I had more time I would make my enemy design look a bit more detailed.
  • 7. Aesthetic Qualities The red hearts I thought would go very well with the black background of my design. These two colours work perfectly. This is my enemy design I thought that this design turned out pretty good, if I had more time I would make my enemy design look a bit more detailed. This design I thought would be useful for the games objective. You would have to collect 3 coins to fill the jar to progress onto the next level. The black background design I thought goes with the red colours (hearts and text). Strengths: Coming up with different design for the characters and the hearts. Putting different colours together. Weakness: Coming up with a better background design for my game. Adding more enemies and adding more details to my enemies. What I like about my product is that I was creative. I thought that the final product looked amazing. I liked the texture of the tree.
  • 8. Audience Appeal The red hearts I thought would go very well with the black background of my design. How have you appealed to your target audience? I have appealed to my target audience by making the game look family related. I made this game suitable for 12+. I made sure that there weren’t any weapons in this game. I made sure that there wasn’t any violence in this game.
  • 10. Feedback 1- Chris D • What did you like about the product? • I like the use of colours. The red and blue have a good contrast that makes the important parts of the level stand out. • The soundtrack and sound effects gave the game a bit of life which was good. • • What improvements could have been made to the product? • Maybe extra levels could have been shown off to give a sense of variety. • The background is also a bit lacking and may have benefitted from more detail and objects.
  • 11. Feedback 2- Hayden L • What did you like about the product? • The things that I liked about your product is the music that has been used and I also like how the jar in the middle counts when you collect the things. • • What improvements could have been made to the product? • The improvements that you could have included would be making more levels.
  • 12. Feedback 3- Chelsea C • What did you like about the product? – I liked how bright a colourful the game is. The sound effects matched the theme of the game. The shading of the tree give it a nice atmosphere and adds to the aesthetic of the game. • What improvements could have been made to the product? • I feel that the background music doesn't really suit the style of the game. I think that it could have had a lower volume so that we could hear the sound effects more clearly.
  • 13. Peer Feedback Summary • What do you agree with from your peer feedback? • I agree to lower the background volume to hear the sound effects when the character jumps (example). • What do you disagree with from your peer feedback? • Finding it tricky to come up with a background design for my game.
  • 14. Peer Feedback Summary • What changes would you make to your product based upon your peer feedback and why? I would lower the volume so that you can hear the sound effects- jump (example). I would come up with a better background design for my game maybe a Halloween design since my game is a Halloween theme game. I would also find a better background music for my game because this music in the background sounds a bit off. I would also include more levels for my game to make my game more interesting. Although making more levels may take a bit of time and I would have to be weary to keep to my time schedule, but when I make a game next time I will make more levels and each level will have different designs to the background, to the enemies and to the blocks that my character will be jumping on. Also on each level will have different modes which are (Easy/Normal/Hard).
