Preserving our historical places at a time of redevelopment and repurposing is meaningful to me because places are filled with meaning and memories, and people rightly rally to preserve them when such meaning and memories are non commensurable. Our individual memories are transcendental, and the places where they happened become tools for the recognition of ourselves.
