3. Digitising the legacy assets
• DII mission is to enable fast and low-cost digital models of the legacy physical
assets. The ones, which information is currently contained only in
paper/scanned form.
• Currently, we provide a service of conversion scanned drawings to CAD
format. For now, we focus on drawings of the industrial facilities and
equipment.
• We currently maintain a semi-automatic approach – the work is automated
with manual correction and supervision by our engineers. But we constantly
increase the level of automation.
• Our approach is powered by proprietary AI software, which allows offering
much shorter periods allowing us to charge much less than usual costs.
• Our process is fast, seamless and accurate. It can easily be tested by placing
a pilot order.
4. Our process
Our process is very simple: we take the customer’s scanned drawings and
return the files containing exact digital copies in a common CAD format (.dxf).
Unlike standard widely available pdf-to-CAD convertors our models are
complete: they recognise layers, symbols, sizes and shapes of the objects.
Our work is mostly automatic in some cases, but due to complexity of some
drawings, variety of symbols and drawings styles, we maintain some degree of
engineering supervision and correction.
5. AI-powered innovative automation
Our AI-based software is the core of our service.
It challenges the conventional conversion methods,
which are very basic. Raster-to-vector
transformation of the scanned drawings produces a
bunch of unrelated lines and characters. Manual
conversion takes a lot of time and effort.
Our recently developed product is radically different
from anything at the market. It detects and
connects symbols, detects the main body of the
object, service areas of the drawing etc. For
simpler drawings, it transforms .pdf to a CAD model
completely automatically.
Our software constantly learns and becomes better
with each new drawing.

Safe and efficient decommissioning
of industrial facilities requires
engineering phase. It needs CAD
files of the objects. For large objects
substantial amounts of effort is
invested to create CAD files, just to
destroy the object afterwards.

Digital twins assumes objects automation
with monitoring and simulation of all their
physical processes. Gartner has been
including d.twins in the top 10 global tech
trends for several years.
Creating a twin for an existing object
involves the complete digitization of its
engineering information.

• Reusing complex objects
requires their re-engineering,
which itself requires conversion
drawings from paper to CAD
