organize the various factors of production, e.g. with the land; the
entrepreneur built the business. Labour represents the amount of
people hired in the business and skills necessary to manipulate
within the carwash and guest house. Capitol represents the
money necessary to pay for land and labour. The entrepreneur
will also be planning and developing new ideas for the business to
provide better services.
Type of production
The type of production that will be used within the business will
be tertiary production.
Tertiary is the provision of a service. Since the business is a
carwash and a guesthouse it will be providing the service of
washing cars and hoteliering to the community and its customers.
10. 10
Levels of production
The type of production:
The level of production in the business will be domestic level
production.
Description of the level of production:
Domestic production is when you’re catering for local, community
or country. The business will be catering for the community of
Charlestown and will be using local materials from within the
country.
Qualities control measures that the business should adhere to:
Austin’s Carwash and Guest House provide the service of car
washing and hoteliering. Two quality control measures the
business will practice are: 1) to have health inspectors to come
into the business and check the guests’ rooms and the
environment to ensure it is workers and customers friendly.
2) If the guest house personnel discover someone violating the
law, behaving suspiciously or an offender wanted by the public
security organs, the matter shall be reported immediately to the
local public security organ. Concealing knowledge of a case or
harboring an offender shall not be permitted.
11. 11
Use of technology
Two types of technology that will be used in this business are:
Water pump
Buffer/Polishing machine
The water pump will enhance the force of the water to wash the cars
and the yard faster, more clean and efficiently than a normal hoes
connected to a pipe. Without the water pump the business could lose
customers due to having them wait for a long period for a car to wash.
The buffer/polishing machine will enhance the business because
polishing the vehicles with your hands is time consuming and may not
clean the car like the buffer can, while the buffer/polishing machine is
both efficient and less time is wasted.
12. 12
Linkages
The types of linkage that will be deprived from this business are both
forward and backward linkages.
Forward linkages will be deprived in the business because water is a
raw material, the business will be link with G.W.I (Guyana Water Inc).
Forward linkage is the distribution chain connecting a producer with
the customers. Backward linkages will also be a part of the business
because the beds for the guest house will be bought from another
business e.g. Courts. So therefore the business will have a mixture of
both forward and backward linkages.
One benefit of the backward linkage is that the bed is already made;
you don’t have to waste time and money to build the beds.
