4. INTRODUCTION
In the recent decades, Urbanization has
increased tremendously. At the same phase
there is an increase in waste production. Waste
management has been a crucial issue to be
considered. A smart bin is built on a
microcontroller with metal detector, dc motor
and Ultrasonic sensor. Ultrasonic sensor is
placed at the top of the dustbin which will
measure the stature of the dustbin.
5. ARDUINO
Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based
on the ATmega328P (datasheet). It has 14
digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be
used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16
MHz ceramic resonator (CSTCE16M0V53-R0),
a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP
header and a reset button.
7. USE OF ARDUINO
A arduino is used as a processor in
this project. Arduino perform the
desired activity with the help of
code drafted to it
8. SERVO MOTOR
servomotor is a rotary actuator or linear actuator
that allows for precise control of angular orlinear
position, velocity and acceleration
It consists of a suitable motor coupled to a
sensor for position feedback. It also requires a
relatively sophisticated controller, often a
dedicated module designed specifically for use
with servomotors
10. USE OF SERVO MOTOR
Arduino will be programmed in such a
way that when someone will comes in
front of dustbin the servo motor will
come in action and open the lid for the
person to put the waste material into the
dustbin.
11. UTRASONIC SENSOR
An ultrasonic sensor is an electronic device
that measures the distance of a target object
by emitting ultrasonic sound waves, and
converts the reflected sound into an electrical
signal. Ultrasonic waves travel faster than the
speed of audible sound.
13. USE OF UTRASONIC
SENSOR
Ultrasonic Sensor is placed on top of the
dustbin's lid and when the sensor detects any
object like a human hand, it will trigger Arduino
And Arduino will give the signal to servo motor
to operate and open the lid.
15. OBJECTIVE
The salient feature of
this method is to build
a clean environment
and to empower
the“SWACHH
BHARATH” Mission..
16. CODE
Code is used to describe text that is written using
the protocol of a particular language by a
computer programmer. Examples of
programming languages include C, C#, C++, Java,
Perl, and PHP.
Here the code is used to drive arduino
17. FUTURE AND SCOPE
Smart dustbin helps us to reduce the pollution.
Many times garbage dustbin is overflow and
many animals like dog or rat enters inside or
near the dustbin. This creates a bad scene. Also
some birds are also trying to take out garbage
from dustbin.
18. ADVANTAGES
• Government-powered cities
• Home
• Offices
• Industries, factories
• hospitals
The invention as described in the drawing
find applications in the following area:
19. FUTURE IMPROVEMENT
This project have a scope of improvement The
dustbin can be empowered by the wheels so that
it can move near the users for the easyness And it
can also fitted by the picker so that it can pick the
garbage around it
20. CONCLUSION
A simple but useful project called Smart Dustbin
using Arduino is designed and developed here.
Using this project, the lid of the dustbin stays
closed, so that waste is not exposed ( to avoid
flies and mosquitos) and when you want dispose
any waste, it will automatically open the lid.
