4. What is Augmented Reality?
• Augmented Reality is a live direct or indirect view of a physical,
real-world environment whose elements are augmented (or
supplemented) by computer-generated sensory input such as
sound, video, graphics or GPS data.
• AR is the integration of digital information with live video or the
user's environment in real time. Basically, AR takes an existing
picture and blends new information into it.
5. What is HoloLens?
• Microsoft HoloLens is the first
holographic computer running
exclusively only on Windows 10.
• It is completely untethered i.e. no wires, phones or connection
to a PC required.
• Microsoft HoloLens uses Augmented Reality (AR) Technology
that allows it to pin Hologram in your physical environment.

• Windows 10 is the first platform to support Holographic
Computing with APIs that enable gaze, gesture, voice and
environmental understanding on an untethered device like
HoloLens.
• Microsoft HoloLens, together with Windows 10, brings
high-definition holograms to life in real world.
• As holograms, digital content will be as real as the physical
objects in the actual world.

• The HoloLens will track your movements, watch your gaze and
transform what you see by blasting light at your eyes.

• However, Microsoft doesn’t officially announced the technical
specification of HoloLens.
• But, as expected there may be:

• However, Microsoft HoloLens is the best technology till yet, it
has certain technical and non-technical problems:
• Price and Battery Life Unknown
• Can’t wearable if you wear glasses
• On the long run it heats up
• Less Focus on virtual things
• Camera Tracking is not enough
• Color depth should be improved
20. Cope up with the Problems
• As I study HoloLens, I found some problems and solutions to it.
• As mentioned earlier, Microsoft hasn’t announced technical
specifics and price, it may be possible that it disinterests people.
• The design of Microsoft HoloLens is fix. It can’t be adjustable.
• The Device Should be Flexible adjustable.

• Like every computing device HoloLens Heats up in long use.
• Microsoft should use some cooling technology.
• Biggest problem with most AR technologies is less focus on
virtual objects.
• To fix this, Light Field Display should be used.

• Though the camera has high FOV depth, Tracking is not so
impressive.
• For avoiding this problem, sub-millimeter tracking accuracy and
response time should be 20ms of total latency.
• Colors of virtual things are not so realistic and it doesn’t filters
light from the real world object.
• Use technology like Ambient Light Sensors.

• Holographic computing experiences with Microsoft HoloLens is
different from existing technologies. It is more rich, more
responsive and more capable.
• Microsoft HoloLens is capable of creating beyond your
Imagination.
• The team of scientists is working with creators and developers
all over the world on exciting new HoloLens to make it more
precise and accurate.
