Overview
We live in the Innovation Age, a time that can be considered as a new Renaissance.
CIBIC. Open Innovation Center
Thanks to the phenomenal technological advances of the last decades, in the field of
information and communication technologies as in many others, we have the
potential to significantly improve human wellbeing.
The objective of the Institute of Innovation for Human Wellbeing (i2BC from
its name in Spanish: Instituto de Innovación para el Bienestar Ciudadano) is to turn
this potential into reality by developing solutions to daily problems and improve
overall quality of life.
Our motto, Innovate daily life, innovate life daily, emphasizes our approach:
starting from the real problems of ordinary people to develop effective, sustainable
solutions that qualitatively transform people’s lives, improve their wellbeing,
enhance the environment they live in, and support them in their personal and
professional development.
I2BC acts as a catalyst for innovation by promoting and facilitating collaborations
among different actors (individuals as well as public and private organizations) and
contributing to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of research enterprises.
I2BC is a non-profit organization that was jointly developed by the Ministry of
Innovation, Science and Enterprise of the Andalusia Government, the Andalusia
International University and the Vodafone Foundation of Spain.

The aim of the Foundation is to
promoting the analysis, obtaining
and application the knowledge in
the conceptual areas of human
welfare in Andalucía and the rest
of the World, through the
innovative use of information and
communication technologies,
generating R&D&I of new
models, methods and procedures
of personal development and
social interaction, without
forgetting the valuation,
prevention and counter-
measuring of the possible
negative consequences of the
increasing man-machine
interaction

In the World
I2BC’s mission is to contribute to people’s wellbeing globally. We believe innovation
CIBIC. Open Innovation Center
is a powerful engine behind both individual and collective human development. We
believe in creating economies of scale and eliminating duplications. For this reason,
we cooperate with institutions worldwide to generate ideas, proposals and projects.

With the aim of promoting,
CIBIC. Open Innovation Center
helping and improving citizens
well being to the highest possible
degree, I2BC has produced the
following regulatory document
based on PLI (People Led
Innovation), allowing people to
manage this innovation.
The aims of this document are to:
• Specify the characteristics
and requirements that need
to be met by an organization
so that its products or
services can be classed as
suitable, in terms of
technological effectiveness.
• Define valid measurement
methods for observing citizen
contribution, including them
as part of the processes of Prepared following UNE EN 45011:
technological and General Requirements for Entities
methodological innovation performing Product Certifications

15. People Led Innovation
Reference for Certification
Technological effectiveness is understood to be the ability of a
CIBIC. Open Innovation Center
solution to be simultaneously:
a) effective, producing the desired effect in a controlled
environment (resolving the theoretical problem or meeting on a
technical level the need for which it was designed);
b) efficient, achieving results with an adequate relation to cost-
benefits (responsible use of resources); but above all;
c) capable of guaranteeing (as judged by the receiver in their own
true area of self-assurance) the resolution of the problem or
specific need. All this must be achieved without negatively
affecting any other essential aspect of their quality of life.
Consequently, the citizen is given the role of leader in the final
definition and acceptance of the innovation. This is the only way for
the process to remain aligned with the principles of PLI (People Led
Innovation).

CIBIC. Open Innovation Center
Social Spaces for
Research and
Innovation
Social Spaces for Research and Innovation are
organized ecosystems where the research and
innovation activities are led by the needs and
restrictions of communities that will benefit from the
results. These ecosystem must encompass the
different stakeholders and the social, economical and
political complexities of any human community.
