• May not operate an aircraft in solo flight unless that student:
– Has met the requirement of Aeronautical Knowledge, Pre-solo flight
training, Maneuvers and Procedures for pre-solo flight training of
an aircraft.
– Has received the specifics endorsement of an authorized flight
instructor.
– Has received flight training at night on night flying procedures.

• May not act as pilot in command of an aircraft:
– Carrying a passenger
– Carrying property for compensation or hire
– On an international flight (with some exception)

at night.

practical tests.
11. Part 141 - Private Pilot Certification Course
• Each approved course must include at least the following flight
training:
• (1) For an airplane single-engine course: 20 hours of flight
training from a certificated flight instructor on the approved areas
of operation in paragraph (d)(1) of this section that includes at
least -
• (i) Except as provided in § 61.111 of this chapter, 3 hours of
cross-country flight training in a single-engine airplane;
• (ii) 3 hours of night flight training in a single-engine airplane that
includes -
• (A) One cross-country flight of more than 100-nautical-miles total
distance; and
• (B) 10 takeoffs and 10 landings to a full stop (with each landing
involving a flight in the traffic pattern) at an airport.
• (iii) Three hours of flight training in a single engine airplane on
the control and maneuvering of a single engine airplane solely by
reference to instruments, including straight and level flight,
constant airspeed climbs and descents, turns to a heading,
recovery from unusual flight attitudes, radio communications, and
the use of navigation systems/facilities and radar services
appropriate to instrument flight; and
• (iv) 3 hours of flight training in a single-engine airplane in
preparation for the practical test within 60 days preceding the
date of the test.

and Limitations:
• Privileges
• May act as PIC of an aircraft in connection with any
business or employment if it is only incidental to that
business or employment.
• May act as PIC on Charitable, nonprofit, or community
event flight.
• Search and locations ops. (reimbursed expenses)
• Demonstration flight to a prospective buyer if the PP is
a salesman with at least 200 hrs. logged.
• Towing a glider or unpowered ultralight.
• Conducting a production flight test in a LSA (at least
100 hrs. logged)

14. FAA PART 141 FLIGHT SCHOOL
• More structured environment.
• Must operate with an FAA approved
syllabus.
• Instructors and students must adhere
to the approved syllabus throughout
the entire training.
• a student will take stage checks
administered by either the chief flight
instructor
• Students are also required to complete
a certain number of hours of classroom
instruction or one-on-one ground
instruction with a flight instructor.
