New Liquor Licence
Top Shelf believes an honest and transparent fixed fee structure is crucial for your business.
That’s why I created a 4 Step process so you confidently understand all costs in the application process.
Step 1 Select Liquor Licence
Firstly, choose the liquor licence right for you.
This also includes the transfer & removal of an existing licence.
Here’s what Top Shelf offers:
Restaurant Licence
Producers Licence (Cellar Door)
Producers Licence (Home Office)
Small Venue Licence
Direct Sales Licence
Wholesale Liquor Merchant Licence
Club Licence
Limited Club Licence
*Limited Licence (Once-off) – Please call to complete this much shorter and less complex application
Step 2 Fixed Fee’s
These are the fixed fees. Top Shelf will manage this entire process start to finish, guaranteed.
Government Application Fee
$518 This is the initial fee charged on each application irrespective of the licence type.
It’s important to note this is the application fee only and doesn’t include other admin fees (steps listed below).

Top Shelf’s Charge for Service
$850 This includes representing matters on your behalf including Council, objectors, all paperwork (includingdelineated
premises plans, capacities and a Risk Management Plan) plus knowing exactly what you’re entitled to.
2. Step 3 i) Personalised Extras (Optional)
These are also fixed fees set by the Licensing Authority which require additional applications.
Top Shelf will also manage these processes at no extra cost to you.
Extended Trading Hours
$518 If you’d like to trade past the statutory hours then you will need to apply.
It’s very important to note this can attract objectors and interventions to which Top Shelf will address.

Entertainment Consent
$518 If you’d like to add the option to entertain your customers then this is for you.
This can also attract objectors and interventions so make sure to talk to me before you make a decision.
ii) Outdoor Dining (Optional)
Outdoor Dining Permit
$TBA* Outdoor dining has been a popular addition in South Australia and generally requires approval.
Top Shelf will liaise with Council and other parties on your behalf at no extra cost to you.
*This fee generally is calculated on seat numbers or square meterage so an approximate can’t be given.
Step 4 Government Administrative Fee’s
Finally, these are the fees which vary based on the size, structure and nature of your business.
Position of Authority (Probity Check)
$111 Government fee which applies to each person* who seeks to hold a position of authority.
These include trustees of trusts, directors and business partners to name a few.

Advertisement Fees (The Advertiser and/or Messenger Local News)
$TBA* Advertising is determined on a case-by-case basis by the Licensing Authority. Transfers are exempt in most cases.
*The price varies based on the amount of wording used in each advert so an approximate can’t be given.

Badges
$20 Government fee which applies to each person* who is required to wear a badge.
These include responsible persons and directors to name a few.

Premises Plan & Statutory Notices
$14 These are necessary once your application is approved.
A Statutory Notice must be prominently displayed at the entrance point (minimum requirement).
