8. School Libraries in the UK: a worthwhile past, a difficult present – and a transformed future? 14. School Libraries in the UK: a worthwhile past, a difficult present – and a transformed future? 87% of qualified librarians are contributing to information literacy work in their school by such activities as planning and conducting lessons in the library or classroom, often jointly with teachers. 21. WORLD BOOK DAY I’ve got an author coming in 10 days after WBD and he write fantasy fiction for children, so I’m incorporating a fantasy theme into my WBD in the library…going to hide 8 elves in the library each with a clue and the answer leads on to the next elf. Everyone who completes the treasure hunt will get a (chocolate!) gold coin, and if they write a book review too of their favourite fantasy book, they may win something else. I just hope it works! Have made posters and stuck them around the school, plus, I’m coming in one day in half-term to sort it all out.
