2. OVERALL IDEA
Our chosen subgenre was American Gangster.
Our original idea was: An autistic child drowns the mafia don’s cat. The father
of the child owes a favour to the mafia and when the mafia hear of the cat’s
death they order the father to kill the autistic child. He goes into hiding, but is
soon found by the mafia and his entire family are killed.
The film following the sequence would tell the story of the father’s revenge
on the mafia.

7. LOCATION
These are the two locations that we have thought about using.
In the end we decided that we would use the studio to create
our locations. This is because there isn’t many places that look
like they are from the 1940s and this is the time period that we
are basing our title sequence in but, we will probably use these
locations to shoot the outdoor scenes.
9. USING, CHALLENGING AND
DEVELOPING GENRE CONVENTIONS.
In our title sequence we will be using these genre conventions:
Tension
Set in the 1940s
Typical gangster costume (dinner suit, red flower etc)
We are going to challenge the conventions by:
Instead of following the story of the mafia it will follow
the life of a man who seeks revenge on them.
