Description
Saritsa Foundation recognizes the critical role of youth in creating a
responsive society to cope with disasters. Towards this mission, Saritsa

Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India is
organizing awareness and preparedness workshops for
University staff, and student’s. The team of experts will
prepare the participants to be awareness raisers amongst

use of local resources for innovations.

6. The team of Saritsa Foundation conducted a workshop for
youth of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Petroleum
University on 18 and 19 January 2013.
The workshop was conducted to build capacity of youth for

earthquake, flood, Tsunami, cyclone, terrorism and Bomb
blast, Chemical, Biological and Nuclear Hazards. Education

centered to learner centered linking and recognizing
importance of RIGHT TO LIFE SECURITY duty of every
person. The participants were actively engaged and
involved throughout the workshop. They were guided to
mind map vulnerabilities to their areas and evolve insight

and understanding to draw an action plan to protect in
disasters.

7. They were made to use local resources to respond to
disasters during demonstrations and mock drills. The final
session was designed to assess impacts of learning to make
workable plans to respond to live scenarios .
The Participants were guided to reach to vulnerable people
in Rural and Urban areas and raise their awareness and
