This document summarizes archaeological work done in Savannah, Georgia to uncover sites from the Revolutionary War period. Coastal Heritage Society archaeologists, supported by the National Park Service, revealed several archaeological sites from the failed 1779 attack on British-held Savannah. These included a defensive ditch in Madison Square, British soldier artifacts in Lafayette Square, a possible gun battery site in Emmet Park, and potential Revolutionary War defenses found in Colonial Park Cemetery using ground penetrating radar. The work helped trace the footsteps of the American Revolution in Savannah through archaeological discoveries.
