The document discusses how retailers can leverage proximity marketing and customer data to increase sales. It introduces the MOCA platform, which allows retailers to develop personalized marketing campaigns using real-time customer segmentation, location data from beacons and geo-fencing, and deep insights into customer behavior and preferences. Using these tools on a single platform helps retailers enhance the customer experience, understand the customer journey, and improve commercial performance.
2. HOW CAN RETAILERS LEVERAGE
PROXIMITY MARKETING?
As technology continues to become more integrated into
consumers’ daily lives, more and more retailers are focusing their
efforts on developing a true 1-to-1 personalization strategy.
The physical store still garners more than 80% of retail sales, so its
role in personalization should not be underestimated. Consumers
don’t want to receive emails or see display ads promoting a
product they just purchased in store. Recognizing shoppers across
all channels doesn’t just benefit the consumer, it benefits the
retailer, too, resulting in higher sales and greater customer loyalty.
A recent consumer study* shows that:
Now retailers have the opportunity to communicate and engage
with customers using proximity marketing platforms.
Although, with MOCA, retailers can go above and beyond a simple
proximity marketing solution, which usually delivers only
promotional notifications. MOCA, is a big data marketing platform
that allows you to learn from your customers and understand their
behavior to deliver the best possible experience and increase sales
across all channels.
48% recognize that they purchase more from retailers that leverage shopper
interests and buying behavior to personalize the customer experience across
all channels.
53% believe that retailers who consider in-store purchases in their marketing
efforts deliver a superior shopping experience across all online channels.
1-in-3 find personalized advertising desirable.

4. CASE STUDY:
How MOCA transformed the shopping
experience at a luxury shopping center.
Jockey Plaza is a luxury shopping center that has more than 30 million
visitors per year. With around 170,000 m2 of space and more than 250
stores, it is one of the largest shopping centers in Latin America.
In order to provide proximity marketing services 250 beacons were
deployed across the venue. As a result, brands and customers can
communicate through mobile application, closing the loop between the
online and offline world.
At the shopping center, customers are able to receive GPS-driven
notifications with welcome messages and alerts for upcoming events.
Furthermore, they can receive personalized proximity notifications based
on their behavior and preferences. These notifications include: special
offers, flash sales, purchase reminders. Also, the shopping center allows
brands to drive traffic to their stores, increasing their sales.
By delivering relevant content at the right time at the right place, it will
increase visitor conversion significantly. As a result, the shopping center
converts visitors into shoppers.
Now the shopping center can provide better services to brands and
visitors. With advanced analytics, they can know which areas are the most
visited, understand the customer journey, discover new commercial
opportunities and maximize profitability.
Consumers are becoming more demanding. They want to consume
more luxury brands and receive better experiences.
The shopping center set two primary goals:

The platform is built using 3 main concepts:
6. EMBRACE LOCATION-BASED
TECHNOLOGIES TO ENHANCE
VISITOR EXPERIENCES
What is geofencing?
Geofencing is a technology that defines a virtual boundary around a
real-world geographical area. In doing so, a radius of interest is
established that can trigger an action in a geo-enabled smartphone.
Geofence Advantages
Use the GPS and other location information from smartphones.
No Bluetooth or wifi conexion is required.
Quick and easy to set up.
No hardware deployment required.
Works outdoors.
7. EMBRACE LOCATION-BASED
TECHNOLOGIES TO ENHANCE
VISITOR EXPERIENCES
What are Beacons?
A beacon is a small Bluetooth low-energy sensor that can be placed
anywhere, and is detectable by nearby mobile devices. Smartphones
then receive the beacon signal allowing mobile users to receive
proximity-based notifications.
Beacon Advantages
Low-cost device.
Easy set-up and maintenance.
Works like an indoor GPS but with higher precision: from 2cm (0,07ft.) up to 70 m (230ft.).
Extended battery life: up to 2 years.
Compatible with iOS and Android.
