Sequoia (Jeremy) Nagamatsu was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and Oahu, Hawaii and was educated at Grinnell College in Iowa (BA Anthropology) and Southern Illinois University (MFA Creative Writing). His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Conjunctions, ZYZZYVA, Tin House (online), The Bellevue Literary Review, The Fairy Tale Review, West Branch (online), Redivider, Bat City Review, Lightspeed Magazine, Puerto Del Sol, Gargoyle, Hobart, and One World: A Global Anthology of Short Stories (New Internationalist), among others.
