Abstract
This dissertation entitled "Anis Mansour And His Contribution
to Short Stories", particularly defines the art of the short story
in terms of its origin and development through the ages and
describes the pioneers of the short story from the Arab world
in general and from Egypt in particular. Anis Mansour's life
with his works and literary writings have also been discussed,
along with the ways and methods he adopted in his writings,
and the various elements used in the writings of his short
stories, with character and vision, often ending with a specific
idea.
Specially, in the third chapter, I have explored his contribution
to short story, along with the topics and the issues he wrote
about and the ideas he presented in his collections of short
stories as well as his language, methods and features in the
writing of the short story.
The research methodology I dealt with while writing about his
life, his writings of short stories, his literary works as well as
the topics and issues he addressed in his short stories is
analytical. I paid special attention on his collections of short
story "Ya Man Kunt-e-Habibi", "Hiya Wa Gairuha", "Illa
Fatima", "Qulubun Sagirah", "Azizi Fulan", "Baqaya Kull-e-
Shai", particularly I have analysed and evaluated them allwith

utmost attention, also I have highlighted their advantages and
technical characteristics of his writings of short stories. In this
dissertation, I have also recalled the vital humanitarian vision
and the ideas that he had often addressed in his writings of
the short stories.
