Life is not always easy, surely when we come to find ourselves at the lowest; it is then that we need self-confidence
and self-esteem. Since circumstances, situations or problems in our existence arise, knocking us off balance with a
feeling of disarray, sometime in panic, and leaving us wounded, at times to the core.
At those times, you can’t even recall what normal feels like anymore.
You wonder and question yourself by saying things like “Will I ever go back up this slope?” “Will I ever find strength
again?”
Remember that you are not at all alone. Even if most of my friends call me “Iceman”, I had my share of aches and
confusion, just like you, and it is the chief reason why I was led to become a lifestyle and success coach.
A Get Back On Your Feet Story
Let me share one of many stories that have happened throughout my life. When I arrived in Los Angeles, California,
from another state, I got all my money stolen from my room; so I wandered with my bags and found myself in the
streets of the San Fernando Valley with nothing left to my name.
I was homeless. I slept three nights in a park near Van Nuys, not the safest place in LA, and thought of a way to get
back on my feet. I do not why, but I just believed that something better would come my way.
And like each time it happened in my life, it was at my lowest that I found the courage, self-confidence and strength
to rise up again like the Phoenix.
My second morning, I went to an AA meeting – Alcoholic Anonymous – to drink coffee and donuts, there I listened to
people sharing their message, some of them were famous. As I sat there, someone came and asked me to share,
so I shared my story.
After the meeting, that same person came over to me, and said that he would help me if I was coming back the day
after. So next morning I came back and he got me into a halfway house, even if I wasn’t an alcoholic and I had to
follow rules, it was surely a way to get back on my feet.
Circumstances Change with Time
You see, circumstances change with time. With each situation, and by believing positively and moving forward, you
build more and more self-confidence and self-esteem for yourself.
Over the years, this way of thinking always got me through. When I created my blog, I kept asking myself “What are
people really looking for?”, so I inquired some of my followers, and what I discovered moved me very deeply. They
were all reading and looking for: Inspiration.
In each hour of any day, people are seeking ways to be inspired, to get rid of their problems and feel “better” about
themselves — feel confident again.

2. Sergei VanBellinghen discusses on how to build
self-confidence and self-esteem
I am writing this post in hopes of lifting you up and find your self-
confidence and self-esteem again if ever you feel like giving up or
already done so.
If there is one thing I believe without a doubt, is that: You can!
It is such a wonderful feeling to know that you really can do something to
shape your self-confidence and self-esteem. Remember that you cannot
modify outside circumstances or individuals, so accept it and visualize
yourself transform into the person you want to be.
You do not need to be Superman to have such power. We all have it
within us, so “Yes, you can”.
How to Build Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem
Here are 10 ways to build your self-confidence and self-esteem:
1. Bring out your survival instincts. Remember those times when you survived, went through trials, and
overcame them. Recall that confidence in your own abilities. You have fallen before and will stand up again.
2. Make a “Success file”. Put together any positive emails, notes, letters, cards, pictures and compliments that
show you how strong you are. When you get a praise that makes you feel strong, write down and save it into
this “Success file” to provide proof of the positive you have on other’s lives.
3. Rest on reliable individuals. Rely on trusted friends, family, or a counselor who will remain at your side no
matter what. Ask them to tell you again about your qualities and suck them in.
4. Find inspiration around you. The key here is to make sure that you are doing something — anything
positive — to take care of yourself. Read motivational books, lift weights, run or walk in nature away from the
noise, eat healthy, meditate and sleep if your body asks.
5. Find your inner core. Trust your inner self to find a way to fight back. Your subconscious mind will give you
the strength needed and know that you are connected to the universal law or however the name you give
divine help.
6. Surround yourself with optimistic people. Get to places that make you feel good and inspired. Stay a
longer time if you are feeling inspired. Do not stay around negative individuals or energy. Walk away from it.
Better to be alone than in bad company.
7. Remind your body to release endorphins. By doing something pleasurable — your body will thank you.
Choose whatever passion made you feel good in the past: playing of a musical instrument, having sex,
drawing, writing a book, singing, doing sports, etc.
8. Meditate. Enquire for spiritual guidance. Be open to receiving small miracles in the most surprising ways, and
have confidence in that you deserve them. Trust the universe.
9. Get your mind busy. Work as a volunteer to help people or animals. Create something. Get painting
classes. Learn a new language and your heart will get stronger while time passes.
10. See yourself overcome the pain. Look back at all the small or big success you had values in your life.
Repeat to yourself that you are bigger than this. You have a lot to live for yet.
And yes, I really believe you can build self-confidence and self-esteem for yourself. See how I became a lifestyle
and success coach, and how you can change your life by helping yourself and inspiring others to do the same. Click
