1. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Undoubtedly in present world Accounting is the universal language of any business. Accounting is the
significance of organise, structure and the fundamental of every business. I have completed SSC from
Mizmizi Paindi Rekmat Ali High School in 2008 and HSC from Dhaka Commerce College in 2010 both
under the Business Studies stream. I enrolled further in BBA program with specialization in Finance at
East West University. During my final year in the BBA program, while I was applying to many
organizations for better internship opportunities, I got to join a government approved Hajj and Travel
agency (Mabrur Travels) as a Junior Accountant in July 2015 with an intention that it will provide me
a good practical exposure what I studied and will help me to gain an understanding of functional
aspects. My major responsibilities include maintaining general ledger accounts, correcting errors by
posting adjusting journal entries, securing financial information by completing database backups and
keeping information confidential etc. However, I was being challenged during my work and felt that I
am lacking the competency to move up the ladder into a superior position in a more reputed company
which provide more value and offer better remuneration package to their employees and thus their
employees enjoy more positive social impression. In my country, as graduate numbers are increasing
rapidly every year so unable to prove me competent over others will result in complete failure and
probably I have to fall behind from the stiff job competition. For this to be capable competing there, I
need to have a higher education from overseas and that too from a foreign institution which can give
me a better insight to the global accounting practices in addition to gaining the proper competency to
be more demanding in the workplace. Hence I began to prepare myself for IELTS examination and
came up with a satisfactory score that met the requirement of an overseas institution. In the
meantime, I used to do research on various universities in Australia for higher studies and finally
found out that the course structure of Graduate diploma of Accounting and MPA program at Charles
Sturt University (CSU) seemed quite appealing to me and felt that it would satiate my future career
needs. These two courses are outlined to add conceptual depth by concentrating on studies in
Accounting and related disciplines. Being graduated from this department I will be able to undertake
and evaluate the conceptual basis of Accounting; evaluate and apply the principles of accounting
practice to practical job world which I think the most crucial factor to prove and move forward to
their future career path. I believe studying mentioned courses will give me the opportunity to develop
the knowledge and expertise I will need for a rewarding career in accounting starting with associate
membership of professional accountancy bodies. In our country masters of accounting course is also
available but the value of obtaining a foreign degree is higher than that of a neighbourhood degree as
the worldwide instruction standard gives a focused edge to the representatives in my country’s
organizations and also upon completing my desired degree I would able to start my career from such
a position, probably mid-level, from where I could reach to the top most level of related field and
benefitted from all possible aspects of life. I wish to be able to undertake advanced learning in both
theory and professional practice and learn to identify and solve accounting and business related
problems in innovative ways. It is definitely a fascinating area of learning and one that I will certainly
be able to apply to my future career. Moreover, I will be able to work in a superior position such as
Senior Accountant position after I come back to my home country on completion of my higher studies.
I am well-prepared to face the challenges of studying at CSU and I have the determination to realise
my goals and complete my studies successfully after which I desire to focus on my career progression
after coming back to Bangladesh.
I choose Charles Sturt University because it is one of the top universities in Australia and highly
ranked in the world university ranking system. From CSU I will get an internationally recognised

2. qualification and much more- will get an Australian experience like no other. CSU is dedicated to

skills, as a graduate I will need to acquire meeting industry needs. The university itself finds

chance to put theory into practice in a truly professional working environment and are in touch with
modern demands and practices of the business world getting better prepared for the workforce It is a
well reputed university and the cost of tuition is very much affordable to me. My university campus
located to the major public transport facilities and offer students like me variety of services and
guidance to make my education investment an amazing and fruitful experience.
Australia is a well-recognized country in the world for their top education system and its degrees are
highly accepted all over the world, including Bangladesh. It is a dynamic and vibrant country with
friendly people and safe and sound environment. Australia is currently the third most popular
destination for international students in the English-speaking world, behind the United States and the
UK. Many international students choose to study there because of the cultural diversity, friendly
natives, and high quality of education. Australia’s standard of living is amongst the highest in the
world. Living expenses and tuition costs are considerably lower in Australia than they are in the
United States and United Kingdom. Furthermore, Australian weather is mostly similar to my country
so it will be easy for me to adopt with new environment. These are the facts I was need to know
studying outside of own boundary. That’s why I choose Australia for my future education.
I consider myself as person who has a long-term view, loves challenge and is confident of my ability of
communication and organization therefore I choose to study mentioned courses as these courses are
designed for students like me looking for a boost in career, and opens the way to many vocational
choices in areas of financial management, public practice, commerce and industry, government and
semi-government organisations and so on. My chosen courses provide specialised formal knowledge,
capabilities and competencies in accounting and related business areas which certainly will help me to
be ahead and get more worthy job opportunities. Already I have practical job experience that will give
me additional advantage to understand my course units and help me to merge academic knowledge to
real work implementations.
I hope myself to become a person who is self-possessed and open-minded, someone who has the
ability to take charge of accounts department. After completing my chosen courses I will be well-
prepared to launch successful careers in either the public or private sector within corporations,
banking and financial institutions. Graduate diploma of accounting and MPA will enable me to achieve
the goals that I have set for myself and I expect to have a glorious career ahead and benefit by
contributing to my own nation. I strongly believe that I am ready for higher education in Australia
because I have definitely grown into my own person.
