3. Zero waste System
 Introduction:
Zero waste system is a system founded by Paul
parmer in okland.
Have you heard zero waste system lately? It is trending
search then , just like other sustainaibilty concepts such as
the circular economy and ethical or sustainaible fashion.The
term implies a complete absence of waste.However is it
possible for humans to produce 100% zero waste? Probably
not. But zero waste philosopy has gained acceptance from
governments and individuals globally.

4. Def :
The conservation of all resources by means of
responsible production, consumption, reuse, and
recovery of products,packaging, and materials without
burning and with no discharges to land, water, or air that
threaten the environment or human health.

5. WHY WE ADAPT A ZERO WASTE
APPROACH?
 Zero waste conserves resources and
minimizes pollution.
 Once they are used, the goods are simply
dumped in a landfill or destroyed in an
incinerator .In contrast, a zero waste approach
conserves natural resources and reduces
pollution from extraction ,manufacturing and
disposal.

6. APPROACH OF ZERO WASTE TOWARDS
BUILDING CONSTRUCTION:
 Construction is one of the key parameter for social and
economic growth for any nation, but it is also named as one
of the major waste generating process. however,it has
sufficient to reduce any waste generation .
 Advance planning and monitoring start from the project
till the end of construction can reduce waste generation
upto a large extent and this is “ZERO WASTE” which is one
of the most visionary approach to overcome this problem.
 Zero waste approach is correlated for building
construction work to asses the practical application on
a design and process through out the life cycle.

 Reducing the amount of material required
for building and the amount of waste
generated.
 Management of demolition waste.
 Material specification i.e use of recycled
material
 Provision of recycling space/facilities.

10. 3R,s concept:
 The principle of reducing wastes
, reusing and recycling resources
and products is called 3r,s .
 It consists of
1)REDUCE
2)REUSE
3)RECYCLE
The three R,s help to cut down the
amount of wastes we throw away ,
they conserves natural resources
,landfill space and energy.

11. 1)REDUCE:
Reduce means to cut back on the amount
of trash we generate
Buying products with less packaging. Did you know that 30% of
the waste in our landfills comes from product packaging? When
shopping for items choose the ones in just one bog or bag as
opposed to those that are double and triple packaged.
Buying products in bulk. By buying more of the same item all at
once you reduce the overall amount of packaging you will
encounter.Try to stay away from disposable goods. In particular,
paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils.
Buy durable goods. Especially when making a big purchase look
into the history and reviews of the item you are buying. By buying
something that will last you help to make sure wastes will stay out
of landfills for longer.

13. Reuse:
Reuse means to find new ways to use
things that otherwise would have been
thrown out..
 Don’t automatically throw away items that are broken,
several can be reused and turned into great new things!
 Use sealable containers rather than plastic wrap.
 Invest in some reusable shopping bags or bring old plastic
ones with you to the store.
 Look into upcycling ideas for common household items,
many have alternate uses you may never have thought
about.

15. Recycle:
Recycle means to turn something old and
useless(like plastic milk jugs) into something
new and useful (like picnic benches ,
playground equipment and recycling bins)
 Check with your municipal garbage company to see if they
have a recycling option as well. This can help make
recycling even easier.
 Check with local recycling facilities to see what items they
accept.
 Start an office recycling program.
