This Private Bank has offices throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle
East. The bank’s main focus is to provide wealth management services
to private clients, wealthy families and institutional investors in the
key geographies in which they operate. The bank is well capitalized
and enjoys a muscular backing from its key stakeholders. This Private
Bank is seen as one of the most stable institutions in its class with a
strong growth trajectory on its horizon.
Currently the institution is looking for a Head of Private Banking for its
Abu Dhabi business; one of the most lucrative geographies and the
most profitable location throughout the financial crisis. Already
possessing an impressive network of top echelon clients the Bank
requires a seasoned and sophisticated Head of Private Banking to
managing their expansion strategy in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The tradition of fine Swiss Private Banking is deeply embodied in the
corporate culture of this banking and the preferred candidate will
possess an ethos that echoes with culture of the bank.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO for Middle East and North Africa the
Head of Private Banking Abu Dhabi will be responsible for crafting the
over arching strategy for the group. Working hand in hand with the
Banks top leadership the preferred candidate will have a deep
knowledge of Private Banking in the Middle East and have a clear
vision of how to deliver above market growth for the Bank over the
next 3 and 5 years.
The successful candidate will have the gravitas and pedigree to
command the respect of Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and VVIP
clients. Experience with the region’s top institutional clients will also
be required. As the most senior person in the Emirate the chosen
candidate will be responsible for training and developing his or her
RMs and providing a strong infrastructure to promote cross selling and
sales of Asset Management (mutual funds, private equity, capital-
protected notes, structured products), Investment banking (bonds,
sukuks, convertibles, private equity), Treasury (FX, structured
products) and Deposit products.

Candidate Qualifications
Key Strengths and Abilities
Candidates for the role of Head of Private Banking should have;
Team player with ability to build consensus in a group setting.
Relevant exposure to Private Banking, Wealth Management, and
Brokerage.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Good presentation skills and the ability to present complex
strategies concisely and clearly to shareholders, Board
members and senior management.
Good business sense, with the ability to analyze complex
transactions and identify key elements and issues that are
important to reach sound conclusions.
Creative approach to problem solving.
Deep understanding of client needs and the ability to create
investment solutions.
Experience and Credentials Required
12+ years of prior experience in Finance, with certifications such
as CFA, MBA, CPA are preferred. A minimum of 10 years
experience working in a Private Banking environment.

Shane has an MBA from London Business School, and an
undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of British
Columbia. He is a Non Executive Board Member of Fortis Group
Holdings and Founder of Big Brothers Big Sisters UAE. He was
formerly a Board Member of the Canadian Business Council, President
