Most companies talk about
excellence on a routine basis. Yet,
they do so without a common
definition. How d we define
excellence?
Too often at work and in life, our
perception of excellence is
compromised by rationalization,
by resetting the yardstick of
measuring our performance. We
externalize!
Passion
Something that inspires everyone
with energy, enthusiasm and
caring.
Passion turns life into an
adventure
Competency
The skills needed to do your best
Flexibility
Response to unique situations
whenever they occur
Communication in an Orgn
All about roles and expectations
Ownership
Giving your best and taking 100%
responsibility for the job
If you are indifferent
You will deflate passion of others
If you are inflexible
You are choosing policy and
procedure over adaptability and
common sense
Avoid competency traps, they are
about staying in areas where you
are good. Move out of that trap to
be challenged and to learn.
If you want excellence, always
provide the relevant people the
opportunity to be involved in
solving the problem.

clarity
• Ownership : Take charge of your actions,
behavior and performance.
Individuals and companies
become average when they
nurture mediocrity.
If you want to be excellent, rate
yourself on
passion,competency,flexibility,
communication and ownership.
It takes mastery and practice in all
five areas of the previous slide to
stay excellent.
Make the choice each day not to
be burdened by negativity,
instead, rise above it with a zest
for life and desire for personal
excellence.

  • 2. Most companies talk about excellence on a routine basis. Yet, they do so without a common definition. How d we define excellence?
  • 3. Too often at work and in life, our perception of excellence is compromised by rationalization, by resetting the yardstick of measuring our performance. We externalize!

  • 9. If you are indifferent You will deflate passion of others
  • 10. If you are inflexible You are choosing policy and procedure over adaptability and common sense
  • 11. Avoid competency traps, they are about staying in areas where you are good. Move out of that trap to be challenged and to learn.
  • 12. If you want excellence, always provide the relevant people the opportunity to be involved in solving the problem.

  • 18. It takes mastery and practice in all five areas of the previous slide to stay excellent.
  • 19. Make the choice each day not to be burdened by negativity, instead, rise above it with a zest for life and desire for personal excellence.
