Organizational Behavior is the observation of individual and/or group

Every individual is different from the other in respect of
intelligence, habit, nature, attitude, etc.
An individual is a whole person with physical and
psychological aspects.
People in an organization have some strong beliefs and
possess certain value systems of their own.

Organizational activities are controlled by social and
psychological norms. People have psychological needs and
motives, at the same time, they are bound to shoulder social

organization are interdependent like OB and management.

Examples of individual-level concepts are perception,
personality, learning, motivation, and attitude.

Deals with the concepts at the group level. Examples
of group-level concepts are team, conflict, leadership,
power, and politics. Group-level concepts may include
how groups are formed, how to make effective teams,
how individually and collectively the group activities
can be improved, how to motivate employees, and
which type of group would be suitable for a particular
assignment.

level. Examples of organizational-level concepts
are change management and organizational
culture. Other topics discussed at organizational
level include the concept of organization,

(i) Organization behavior focuses on three levels of analysis- individuals, groups and
organizations. In any organization, people frequently work together in groups and teams.
(ii) Organization behavior is multidisciplinary in nature. The field of OB is likely to
consider a wide variety of approaches. These approaches are based on individual and
group oriented,
(iii) Organization behaviour and its aspects are more relevant to different disciplines. The
learning areas are relevant to different disciplines like psychology, groups’ dynamics,
sociology, organisational culture, anthropology, interpersonal conflicts, political science,
management science, etc.,
(iv) Organizational behavior are applicable in behavioral science. OB refers to seek
knowledge and behavioral patterns in organization. It develops the process and methods
of behavioral approaches.

The word ‘people’ can be anyone who is working inside the Organization, like employees or
any external person like supplier, customer, auditor, or any government official.
The employee is one of the very important parts of an organization. There is no any
alternative in an organization without employee/people. You know, there may be many
parties in an organization. Some party may be formal and some may be informal.
People makes the interactive and behavioral platform in any organization and people
consists in the form of individuals and group.
The role and behavior of people identifies, recognize and develop the interactive relations
towards behavioral attitudes in society.

The technology represent all the resources with which people work and affects the task that they
perform.
It provides economic or physical resources to make people’s job easily. Technology also put restriction
on the freedom of people.
Organizations work on technologies to help people in efficiently doing their work. Same technology
does not apply to each Organization but different Organizations demand different technologies for
their different line of businesses e.g. bank needs mediating technology which connects customers and
bankers, Manufacturing companies need long linked technology because of their assembly line process,
and hospitals work on intensive technology because of their responsibility to provide specialized
services in terms of doctors and medical equipment's.

Environment is important to Organizations because of the following factors:

# Human resource, competitors, government agencies, unions, and political parties comes from

# The Organizations have to follow rules and regulations fostered by this environment.
All organizations operates within internal and external environment. The existence, structural design,
work performance, mutual relations and behavioral patterns are duly influenced by the internal and
external environmental factors.
