2. INTRODUCTION
There are various supporting agencies of government
for SSI. Many of these agencies belong to central
government & rest belong to state government.

4. Small scale industry output sector contributes almost 40%
of gross industrial value-added,45% of total export from
India.
In order to support, protect & promote the small
enterprises, a number of protective and promotional
measures have been undertaken by government.
The promotional measures cover followings-
Industrial extension services
Institutional support in respect of credit facilities
Provision of developed site for construction of sheds
Supply of machinery on hire purchase terms
Assistance for domestic market as well as exports
Technical consultancy & financial assistance for
technological up gradation.
5. MSME BOARD
These board are reconstituted every two years &
headed by minister incharge of ministry of MSME in
GOI. It is apex advisory body to advice the government
on all issues of SSI.
Through non-statutory body MSME provide an
effective platform for informed debate and facilitate
coordination & inter institutional linkage. Their
functions are-
To facilitate coordination & inter institutional linkage
among various ministers, state government, banks,
financial institute etc
6. MSMEDO
It is established in 1954, headed by development
commissioner & secretary & this is also an apex body
of GOI. Their functions are-
To assist the government in formulation of policies &
programmed, project scheme for the promotion of
MSMI.
Providing the economic information service to
government and SSI.
Developing human resources through training and
providing facilities for improving qualities of product.
7. MSME DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE
There are 30 institute & 28 branch of MSMEDI set up
in state capital & other industrial cities all over the
country. Their functions are-
Consultancy to prospective entrepreneur.
Preparation of state industrial profile.
Project profile.
Preparation DI potential survey.
Quality control & ancillary development
Market survey & pollution control.
Export promotion.
8. MSMETDC
There six centre of MSMETDC Kannauj, Meerut, Agra,
Ramnagar, Firozabad, Mumbai.
Their functions are-
Product design and innovation
Common facility centre, improving in packaging
technique.
Research and development in areas of dense industries
clusters.
9. MSME TESTING CENTRES
These centers are provide testing facilities for raw
materials, semi-finished, finished goods. These centres
located at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur,
Bhopal, Banglore, Hyderabad, Kolhapur.
These centres equipped with Chemical, Mechanical,
Electrical engg to undertake performance test of
products.Their functions are-
Providing testing facilities, Process quality control
system.
Consultancy in testing, quality control & quality
management.
10. COIR BOARD
It is fibre obtaining from husk of coconut, used chiefly
making ropes & matting. These are established by
GOI under a legislation of enacted by parliament
(1953).Their functions are-
Promoting the export of coir products, fixing grade std
and arranging when necessary for inspection of coir
products.
Licensing of retting places for sale of coir fibres.
Advising on all matters relating to developments of
coir products.
11. KVIC
It is a statutory body established by act of parliament
(no 10 of 2006).their function are-
Providing employment & providing saleable articles.
Creating self-reliance amongst the poors.
This is charged with promotion, organization &
implementation of programs for developments of
khadi & village industry.
This provides financial assistance to institutions for
the development of khadi & village industries.
This set standards of quality & check that product
achieve that qualities or not.
12. DIRECTOR OF INDUSTRIES
This implement state government policies and
directives for promoting of industrial development.
The central policies for SSI serve as the guidelines for
framing of state level policies.
This oversees the activities of field office apart from
administrative & regulatory work.
13. DISTRICT INDUSTRIES CENTER
These program initiated in May 1978, for development
of small & tiny cottage sector industries in India &
generate employment opportunities in backward
areas.
There are 430 centrally approved DIC & which covered
all part of India except metropolitan cities. Their
functions are-
Supply of machinery ,raw materials, marketing.
Arrangement for credit facilities.
14. STATE FINANCIAL COORPORATION
This is operating as regional development banks &
playing imp role in the development of SME in state.
There are 18 SFC, 17 are established in 1951 & 1
established in 1949.Their functions are-
This provides the way of term loans, discounting of bill
of exchange & seed capitals.
They also provide facilities for the equipments,
consultancy, merchant banks.
With increasing in the expansion of industry, they
started a newer types of business activities like
floriculture, tissue culture, poultry farming.
