6. Procedure of Padabhyang (Foot Massage)
•1st STEP
• Rubbing and stroking the foot via hands to generate better
circulation in the foot.
7. 2nd STEP
• Warm kansya bowls with medicinal oil coatings are used to
massage the foot in circular and stroke motions to improve
circulation.
8. 3rd STEP
• The Marma points are pressed with care, yet gently to
ensure that they are activated.

10. Mode Of Action
Sparshan is the site of vayu. Thus through Abhyang
(application of Sneha on foot) Vata is pacified.
This also increases the flow of energy and circulation,
directing it in the desired direction.
In this therapy, the use of kansya bowls and pressing the
marma points ensures the elimination of toxins while also
stimulating the nerve endings and releasing negative energy.

13. Precautions
• Oil and kansya bowl should not be too hot or too cold.
• The pressure applied should not be too high or too low.
• Comfortable pressure should be apply on the feet. Should not
continue the massage if patient feels any pain or discomfort.
• Contraindicated in swollen feet.
• A qualified doctor must be consulted by the patient. If your
ankle, toes, or any other area of your foot is injured
