1. Mercenary Hideout or Merc Event are special events in KOC held from time
to time. They are not without problems as these events put a big strain on
the game servers. But you can collect a lot of free goodies when you are
attacking these Merc Camps. Ranging from Portal of Orders to Divine
Inspirations to whatever they have put in as prizes. The prizes are not
always the same for each event.
2. This is an example of the May 2016 Merctile Event.

It just like a Barb camp, they will stay there during the whole event, they
don’t move or disappear once defeated, you can keep attacking same
mercenary hideout over and over again and still get items. The troops there
are easy to kill, 1 wave of archers can wipe it easily.
If you are “Cresting” already a regular barb camp at level 9 or 10 you will be
able to take the Merc Camp quite easily
4. Nowadays everybody should be at a reasonable high peace time TR, for cresting,
DF’ing etc.
This Is my Peace Time TR
If you ask in Alliance Chat, what you use to attack Merc Camps, when an
event is on, you will get different answers from players. Some can attack with
100k archers or 152k etc. Or 4k Souls or 15k Archer & 1 soul. What they fail
to tell in general, what TR they are using, or not taking in consideration what
TR you have or what level cards you have. So suggesting 100 K or 200K
archers may be excessive (for some) but it is a Safe Setup, so if you
accidentally switch your TR or are forced to, the attacks on Merc Camps do
not have losses. Therefore, it suits all players & easy to remember. This is the
I use 100K Archers as a SAFE setup
with:
• Attack
• Defense
• Range
• CS & CS debuff
• Accuracy
• Marchspeed (to reach Merc
Camps fast)
So as you are attacking these Merc
camps, you can still go on with crafting,
have upkeep reduction etc. and
whatnot. Other Safe Setups Are:
100k Catas
100k Ballista’s
5. same principle I have applied in all tutorials for cresting, raiding etc. Better
Safe than sorry.
Looking for Merc Camps
In PowerBot + you can easily search by applying the search filter when Merc
Camps are live
Then choose the highest level you can or are close by. Or Port to it
If there are several Merc Camps close by, it is good practice to attack several
at the same time. You can easily do that via the ATTACK tab in PowerBot+.
(Same way as you crest Barbs Now) and add several targets. Have march
speed equipped to reach them fast.
6. You can set at which amount of collected chests you want to stop. But, I
would say go on, collect what you can, and adjust the special boxes after
event to match the quantity you want.
In addition, you can easily search for the Chest ID by typing the name of the
Chest (Which you can find in the MOTD of the Merc Event)
You can than set your target, how many chests you want to keep, for getting
a certain prize, and the excess chests get opened auto, allowing you to stay
and reach your set target.
10. • ALWAYS TRY A MANUAL ATTACK 1ST BEFORE SETTING / ADDING IT TO
AUTO ATTACK. SOMETIMES A LITTLE TWEAK IS NEEDED IN TR.
Sharing is knowledge, and a lot of players are not sharing. Yes, it gives you and edge, or advantage, but
it leaves also many people clueless. The objective of these tutorials, is to teach, learn, educate players so ALL players have
a better under understanding of the game. The more players participate, the better the overall experience is for all players.
More attacking and defending means “lively” domains full of activity.
