• Amount: £50,000 in advertising + business support
• Geographic Focus: UK

• Venture Candy rewards talented businesses with the exposure and profile they need to
transform themselves from budding enterprises into talked-about brands.

• In the Green section we’re looking for businesses whose primary objective is to make our

Scotland Cleantech Grants (1 of 3)

Zero Waste Scotland Plastics Capital
Grant Programme

• Grant Type: Installation Projects
• Amount: £5,000,000 fund
• Geographic Focus: UK, Scotland
• Deadline: 30th August 2010

• Zero Waste Scotland is launching a £5 million capital grant programme on behalf of the
Scottish Government to develop plastics reprocessing infrastructure in Scotland.

• The programme can provide financial assistance towards facilities capable of sorting, recycling
and reprocessing a range of plastic waste, thereby diverting a minimum of 20,000
additional tonnes from landfill per annum.



Construction Waste Recycling and
Infrastructure Programme

• Amount: £180,000
• Deadline: 31st March 2011

• The Construction Waste Recycling and Infrastructure Programme is provided by the Waste
and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) to stimulate investment in additional
processing capacity for facilities that process and recycle construction, demolition and
excavation waste from construction sites into reusable materials for re-processors.



Scotland Air Quality Grants

• Amount: 30% of total project costs
• Deadline: Ongoing

• Local authorities across Scotland can receive grants to help them fit equipment to their
vehicle fleets that reduces harmful emissions. It is hoped the funding will enable local
authorities to improve air quality as part of their statutory local air quality management
responsibilities.


US State Incentives (Minnesota)

Minnesota Xcel Energy -
Solar*Rewards Program

• Grant Type: Production Incentive
• Amount: $ 2.25/W DC
• Geographic Focus: US, Minnesota
• Deadline: Ongoing

• Xcel Energy's Solar*Rewards Program provides an incentive for residential and
commercial customers that install grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems of at least 0.5
kilowatts (kW) and less than 40 kW.

• The incentive takes the form of an up-front rebate of $2.25 per watt DC.

The Green Lighting Challenge

• Grant Type: Prize / Award
• Amount: $10,000 / $1,000 referral fee
• Geographic Focus: Italy / International
• Deadline: 26th March 2010

• GC is looking for innovative solutions and products to enhance the performance of its LED-based
product line and extend its functional application to a wider range of fittings.

• Win $10,000 cash award for submitting solutions that will allow GC to meet the required
illumination coefficients and to expand its Green Lighting fittings to motorways, urban
areas, sports installations and other public areas.

University CleanTech Challenge

• Grant Type: Prize / Award
• Amount: £5,000
• Geographic Focus: Europe
• Deadline: 19th March 2010 (Phase 2)

• The CleanTech Challenge is a student competition jointly hosted by London Business School
and University College London where students from top European business and engineering
schools compete in cross-functional teams. The challenge is to develop innovative clean technology
