New Grant Programmes from the
FoundationThe Skolkovo Foundation offers a new flexible and prompt funding system – MICROGRANTS in
amounts of up to 1.5 million RUB aimed at solving specific objectives within the framework of
undertaking research and product commercialisation.
This funding is only available to Skolkovo Project Participants

Microgrants’ key parameters
Objective
The provision of funds for concrete actions (4 programmes)
Funding is not provided for operating expenses (lease, payroll budget, etc.)
Amount
Up to 1.5 million RUB per one application
Total amount per one Participant - no more than 4 million RUB within one calendar
year
Documents: A small and exhaustive amount of documents at the input*
Procedures
A simple application consideration procedure comprising one stage - check based
on formal criteria.
No external expertise

Time period for making decisions on microgrant provision - no more than 20

1. Foreign patenting (payment of fees and patent attorneys’ services)
2. Transfer of PCT application to the national phase abroad
3. Patent mapping development within the framework of the implemented project
4. Patent clearance analysis in Russia or abroad
5. Agreements for the disposition of rights (licenses, acquisition of rights, R&D, etc.)
Prohibited expenses
1. Fees for patent maintenance
2. Foreign patenting in breach of the requirements set forth by Art. 1395 of the Civil Code
3. Registration of trade marks
and other actions not included in the aforementioned list

Prototyping
The contractor whose services may be paid from the Foundation’s account:
Collective Use Center (CUC) accredited by Skolkovo Technopark
Maximum total sum of a microgrant received per one application - 1,500,000 RUB
1. Prototyping based on design documents
2. Manufacturing of prototype body frame by 3D printing and/or mechanical processing
3. Industrial design of prototype.

1. Software creation
2. Websites and web applications creation
3. Graphic interface design development for software, website, program applications
4. Creation of software for modelling device operation, a system, or equipment
