This is similar to my product
because we have used the
same colours and the text is
quite bold and big so it pulls
the audience in. It's also
simple and there's not too
much and that's what I want
my podcast to be like. Not only
that but you can tell what the
topic is going to be about.

This is also simple.
However it doesn't really
tell the audience what the
podcast is going to be
about. But also the colours
are bright and so that must
mean that it's going to be
light hearted. The angle is
facing their faces and so
the audience who is
watching can see their
reaction.

This podcast has similar
colours to the last podcast.
However this podcast is for
an older audience because
there's more adult content
is this podcast. But also
most of these podcasts
have sponsers.

IT Conversations by Doug
Kaye was one of the first
podcasts made in 2003.
The podcast was made on
the 24th September 2003,
Doug Kaye attached his
first ten interview MP3 files
to his blog's RSS feed, and
hence was born the IT
Conversations podcast.
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products
have? They all have some sort of advertisements. They
also all have topics that the public would find
interesting. Most of them have big bold writing, so the
audience know what the podcast is about. Not only
that but they make the title interesting and also the
title is about something that’s going on in the podcast.
• What aspects of the research will you include within
your on work? There will be facts about when the first
black Friday was. And also why black Friday happens.
Questionnaire Analysis
Survey Monkey Link:
Audience research
• Observation:
• percentage reading: most of the audience are men.
• What this says about my audience: my podcast will also include
things that men may like also there will be men in the podcast and
so they will bring up topics that men understand as well as
women.
Audience research
• Observation:
• What this says about my audience: most of my audience are under
18.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: most teens these
days like bargains and shopping and so this means that they'll listen
in because they may relate to some of the stories in the podcast.
Audience research
• Observation:
• What this says about my audience: most of the audience like an entertaining podcast.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: I'm aiming for my podcast to be a entertaining.
Hence why my podcast is going to be about black Friday horror stories and also debates
about whether black Friday is good for the world, not only that but I'm also going to make this
podcast funny so the audience don't get bored of just listening about Black Friday.
Audience research
• Observation:
• What this says about my audience: most of my audience like youtuber podcast.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: even though I'm not a youtuber I
am aiming for that kind of style. A chill funny kind of podcast and they can go off
topic and just have a conversation but it's still hilairiouse.
Audience research
• Observation:
• What this says about my audience: most of my audience like podcasts.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: this is good because I'd prefer my
audience to like podcasts than to not like podcasts, not only that but even for the
part of the audience that don't like podcasts, I'm making one that most people will
relate to and so that will make them want to listen to it.
Audience research
• Observation:
• What this says about my audience: my audience say that they will find a
podcast about black Friday horror Stories interesting.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: this is a good thing
because it will make the audience want to listen to my podcast. And
I'd prefer my audience want to be interested in the topic of the podcast.
Audience research
• Observation:
• What this says about my audience: my audience would like
my podcast to be funny.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: which is good
because I wanted to make my podcast funny anyway. So
this will draw in my audience attention.
Audience research
• Observation:
• What this says about my audience: most of my audience are happy with
the topic about black Friday and they don't want any other topics.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: this is good because if
they wanted other topics then I would of struggled because I'm unsure of
what other topics to talk about.
Audience research
• Observation:
• What this says about my audience: most of my audience want a
jingle.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: which is what I
wanted to as the intro of the podcast. This is good that the
audience want it because then they would be happy with it.
Audience research
• Observation:
• What this says about my audience: most of my audience want a special
guest.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: this is good because I was
planning on having my friends as special guests. But if the
audience didn't want to have special guests then I wouldn't of had them.

Audience Profile
Category Demographic Content to appeal to this audience
Age Range
Primary: 16 - 19
Secondry: 30 - 40
• I will ensure that my black Friday podcast is suitible
for these age ranges, by not putting in bad
language. And that also the podcast will relate to
the ages of these age ranges.
• To also appeal the older audience I will make sure
that I will have relatable black friday shopping
stories that the older generation can ralate to.
Gender
Secondry: female
Primary: male
• I will make sure that the podcast isn't just for one
gender because most of my audience are men. But
not a lot of men like shopping, so to help this
situation out I will have men on the podcast talking
about their black Friday stories as well.
Psychographic
Primary: emulators
secondry:
belonger
• By using "black Friday" that will make belongers
want to listen in because they'll feel like they fit in
because everyone participates on black Friday.
• My podcast will also appeal
to emulators because they like to be doing stuff and
black Friday is a lot of action.
Social Status
Primary: working
class
Secondry: middle
class
• This will appeal to the working class because we're
talking about things being at a low price also it will
be accessable on websites that will allow you to
listen to the podcast for free.
Research Evaluation
Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research.
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
– I used youtube for all of my podcast research and I also used links to
show which podcasts I was on about as well.
– Questionnaires
• For questionnairs I used survey monkeys for all my questions and answers.
– Interviews
– I used teams and sent my questions to my classmates for them to fill
in.
Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
– I got the responses that most of the audience like comedy podcasts and also
that most of my audience are males and aged under 18's . They also like
podcasts which is good because It means that they'll listen to my podcast. My
audience also like to listen to youtuber podcasts, which is the kind of vibe I'm
going for.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
– An advantage of a survey is that I get to learn about what my audience like
and how much my podcast will relate to that. A disadvantage of a survey is
that for that small amount of audience that chose something else then what
the majority of my audience chose they probably won't listen in to my
podcast.

My audience also like to listen to youtuber podcasts, which is the kind of vibe I'm going for. – How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage – An advantage of a survey is that I get to learn about what my audience like and how much my podcast will relate to that. A disadvantage of a survey is that for that small amount of audience that chose something else then what the majority of my audience chose they probably won't listen in to my podcast.
