The Child Life Council (CLC) is pleased to announce the availability of five international
scholarships to attend the CLC Annual Conference on Professional Issues, which will take place
in Denver, Colorado from May 16-19, 2013. Each international scholarship will cover registration
for the conference, up to five nights lodging at the conference hotel, actual cost of economy
round-trip airfare up to $ 1,800 U.S., and a small stipend for meals and incidentals.
Child life specialists help children and families to cope with the stress of illness and
hospitalization by providing opportunities for play, age-appropriate preparation for medical
procedures, pain management and coping strategies, and self-expression activities. CLC is the
leading membership association for this group of professionals, with more than 5,000 members
in nearly 500 hospitals and other organizations worldwide. As the premier educational event for
child life specialists, CLCs Annual Conference offers a unique opportunity for networking and
professional development.
Applications are encouraged from any health care professional from outside North America who

on professional practitioners or administrators in a position to be able to introduce, or greatly
enhance, psychosocial care consistent with child life practice and principles in their respective
parts of the world. Individuals from countries that are classified as developing or emerging
economies are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have proficiency in English, as all
presentations at the Annual Conference will be delivered in this language.
Applicants should submit their complete applications to the CLC office via e-mail to
awards(at)childlife(dot)org (preferred method); or by fax to +1.301.881.7092; or by postal mail to
