- Distance between now and graduation – 4-5 years. Can you give me a detailed description of the what you’ll be doing, where you’ll be during any of these times? It gets harder the farther away from the present. We can make assumptions…maybe a party for New Year’s, possibly a summer vacation, a job after graduation, but the details become very vague.
- This class will focus on two methods for major exploration: exploring and wandering. To explore is to investigate or examine. We use something like a map or guide to help us find our way to our destination. It does not tell us where to go but, it helps us make informed decisions about the paths that will work best for us. It’s a system that is defined.
- Wandering is a little different. It’s unconventional, but can be very effective for helping us make decisions and adapting. We look at the word wander and irregular and probably get the idea that there is a sense of being lost, confused or not on track, but in reality, they are terms we use for people that make their own path. We are going to explore and wander in this class to help uncover potential majors starting with who you are? Where you are in life? And what is important to you.
