This document provides an overview of a 12 lesson bundle for Spanish 1. It includes:
1) 12 preliminary mini lesson plans in Spanish and English on topics such as greetings, introductions, likes/dislikes, and numbers.
2) 9 original video lessons from Speaking Latino to accompany the topics.
3) A set of assessment task cards to evaluate students' understanding after completing the full unit.
The lessons are designed to be covered in 1 class period over 2-3 weeks and include worksheets, presentations, and videos to engage students in the target language.

7. Why Learn Spanish
Mini-Lesson Plan
Discover and reflect upon the benefits of
learning Spanish or any other foreign
language.
Students work in groups with videos and
infographics to learn why it is important to
learn Spanish or any other foreign language.
They will also create a poster with their
learning Spanish goals for the year.
8. Introduce the History of the Spanish Language.
History of Spanish
Introduce the history of the Spanish language in a 3-minute
video in English. Students will then answer multiple-choice
questions about what they learned by playing an online
class game. (Non-online version provided too.)
Learn how the Spanish Language came to the Americas and
why there are so many Spanish-speaking countries.
9. The Alphabet and its
Pronunciation in Spanish
Two Speaking Latino original videos (link
provided) cover the alphabet and its
pronunciation in Spanish. Students watch
the videos, take notes and do an oral
practice from a presentation with audio
clips from a native speaker. Includes: Mini
lesson plan, worksheet, presentation.
