AUSTRALIA DAY
Throughout your celebrations this long weekend, please keep in your
hearts those who will not be celebrating.
Namely those who may still suffer from loss of property or life from the
bushfires. And the Indigenous people of this land, particularly the
Noongar people of South Western Australia, who have survived what
began on 26th of January 1788.
Our next working bee is on
Saturday 1st February. Starting
after the morning breakfast.
Mandy hands make light work!
If you have some tea towels
not being used, we would very
much appreciate some
donated. Old or new, as long
as they dry up.
Please phone or email me if you
are interested in joining the
prayer chain to keep the
concerns of the parishioners,
their family and friends in
prayer. We will only pray for
anyone happy for us to.

WEEKLY
FELLOWSHIP
FROM THE WARDENS
Here’s our six-month review of where we’re at and what we’ve been
doing since our Wardenship at Saint Paul’s. Please remember that
ongoing and detailed information about the workings of our church, in
Council Minutes and in Maureen’s comprehensive Account-keeping
Reports, are always available for your perusal in the Church Hall.
We are pleased to update you on the Facilitation process required by
our Archbishop. This is a necessary condition before seeking a new
priest. The Diocese suggested Facilitator, Michael Prince. After initial
meetings with him, it was decided by our Church Council to make use
of his expertise. He will carry out an All-Day Facilitation Workshop
on 8th February. This is only open to the Church Council, the Parish
Nominators and the Wardens. The outcomes of this initial workshop
shall then be disseminated throughout the congregation. His fee will
be divided between the Diocese and the parish. Our contribution has
been reduced to $2,000. We will keep you informed about the
progress of the Facilitation, after the Workshop.
Apart from our usual 9:15am Sunday Services, our Morning and Midday
Prayers, and Meditations, we’ve celebrated Baptisms, four Weddings,
held three Funerals, interred Ashes and Dedicated windows.
General maintenance; such as unblocking sewers, repairing lavatory
ceilings, tree-lopping, pest-inspections, rectory repairs, paying rates
and insurance premiums, are all part of our daily fare. You will have
noticed scaffolding and major repairs and refurbishment along the
church’s North Wall. This is being paid for by a Bequest and a further
generous donation.
We’d like to remind all members of our congregation that you may
attend, as observers, our monthly Church Council Meetings. These are
usually on the third Thursday of each month at 7:30pm. And All may
come, as observers, to our weekly Wardens’ Meetings. These are
currently scheduled at 9:30am each Wednesday.
3. A MESSAGE FROM THE DIOCESE
The following email has come through from the Diocese
regarding revisions to legislation. The consultation sessions are
inclusive of any interested parishioner. If you would like to
attend, give your name to me with the date that suits you, and I
will register our parish and request draft copies of the
legislation for you.
Thank you and Happy New Year, Carol Eaton (0419098918)
"Dear Clergy and Parish Office Bearers,
At the last Synod draft principles to amend the Professional
Standards, Clergy Discipline and, Clergy Appointments and
Licencing Statutes were considered. The Synod agreed with
these principles and endorsed the need to conduct appropriate
consultation in the process of drafting revised Legislation.
The Legislation Committee have been working hard to develop
initial drafts of the legislation and have programmed three
consultation sessions for 22 February 2020 (for clergy), 28
March 2020 (for laity) and 9 May 2020 (for both clergy and
laity).
The purpose of this email is to ask you to save either Saturday
22 February, Saturday 28 March and or Saturday 9 May, as
appropriate. The sessions will be conducted 9am to 12pm at
Wollaston College. Parish Office Bearers are asked to promote
the sessions for Laity among congregations. An invitation to
register attendance and copies of the draft legislation will be
provided prior to the sessions.
