- 140 LED lights illuminate the structure of the QEII Bridge across the Tyne, with bands of colour and using computer programmed controls, the level of illumination changes in relation to the rise and fall of the tides. These controls are also used each day to change the bands of colour as they appear to move through the 360 metre structure, sending ‘messages’ of light between Newcastle and Gateshead.
