1. Selecting the perfect LinkedIn™ profile photo

3.  LinkedIn recommends that
photos are at least 200 x
200 pixels
 Photos that aren’t this size
or larger will not fill the
profile picture frame and
appear undersized

4.  Get rid of that favorite
photo of yours from ’98 –
your photo should
represent how you appear
today
 Update your photo every
2-3 years

5.  Your face should be
properly lit and
recognizable

6.  Avoid splotchy lighting.
Unintentional shadows on
one’s face is distracting.

7.  Crop your image from
shoulders up. Images that
aren’t cropped enough are
distracting and take focus
away from you.

8.  The clothing you are
wearing in your profile
photo should make sense
for your profession. If
you’re not a professional
snowboarder, swap that
photo out.

9.  The best profile photo is
often one that was taken
with the intent of being a
profile photo. Get ride of
that photo of you from your
best friend’s wedding.

10.  If you’re a confident
attorney, your photo should
reflect that confidence.
 If you’re a creative
designer, your photo
should reflect that
creativity.

11.  The perfect LinkedIn
profile photo is:
 Properly cropped,
framed, lit, & sized
 Current
 Captures your
personality
