Sistema-Shyam approves Russian Federation's $600 mn investment The Russian Federation will put $600 million (about Rs 2,800 crore) in the company, which got pan-India telecom license to offer CDMA based mobile services in January 2008. Sistema-Shyam is a joint venture between Sistema, a Russian diversified group, and of India. Prior to Russian Federation's inclusion, Sistema had a 73.71 per cent stake in the joint venture, while Shyam Group held 23.79 per cent in the company and the remaining 2.5 per cent was held by the public.
3. Continued…. The company has 12 operational circles and expects to start services across the remaining circles by next year. It plans to launch services in UP (east), UP (west) and Gujarat by the end of this calendar year.
4. Dabon International scouts for partners & buys in India Dabon International is a joint venture between the Bongrain of France and Dabur India. Dabur India Ltd had forgedthe venture with 50:50 joint venture with Bongrain in 1996 for manufacturing cheese and other milk based products. Dabon International is scouting for local partners for giving a boost to its business in the country and is also open for acquisitions.

BSNL achieves tangible growth in telecom services in Andaman & Nicobar islands BSNL has achieved substantial growth in telecom services in the Andaman and Nicober Islands with its customer base having touched the 1,82,003 figure base. Overall tele-density in the islands, including private operations, is 62 per cent. Out of which BSNL alone shares 36 per cent. Public telephones are operational in 341 villages while a call centre was working to help customers.

8. M&M enters bike market with 2 models Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) on Thursday entered the segment with the launch of two models—Stallioand Mojo. The entry-level 110cc Stallio is priced at Rs 44,699 and would be endorsed by Bollywood actor-director AamirKhan. The Mahindra Mojo 390cc will have a premium tag of Rs 1.75 lakh.
