  5. 5. Origin The first use of the term " coach " in connection with an instructor or trainer around 1830 in Oxford university . The word “coaching” thus identified a process used to transport people from where they are to where they want to be . The first use of the term in relation to sports came in 1861. 5
  6. 6. Aim of coaching(application) Coaching is applied in fields such as sports , performing arts (singer get vocal coaches) acting , business , education , health care . Coaches use a range of communication skills to help client shift their perspective and thereby discover different approaches to achieve goals. 6

  8. 8. CONCEPT OF COACHING Coaching is a full-time job and it the process in which coach impart knowledge to the player. Coach impart not only the basic and fundamental knowledge to his student but provide them with such advance knowledge which help them in bringing maturity in there performance. Thus coach work up the base which posses the specialized knowledge related to particular event. 8

Principal of coaching  The core principal of coaching is self responsibility or taking ownership of our decision.  Awareness - Awareness is the most common outcome that coaching delivers and many of the benefits the client receives arise from this?  Self-belief Confidence that we can do something is a key factor in achieving it .people develop self- belief by being given the space to learn, both through making mistakes and achieving goals.  Solution focus - When we dwell on a problem it get bigger. When we focus on the solution the problem becomes manageable and we find more energy to deal with it .  Challenge - Most of us like to be challenged and stretched with a supportive and reencouraging environment . A coach helps the client for new perspective. 9

Importance of coaching o Coaching is shown to have a powerful positive impact on self-confidence , wellness and work performance .when a manager receives professional coaching their team members also benefit from the mentoring ,leadership development and coaching culture the manager bring back into the organization. o The coach's role is to facilitate learning , offer advice and analyze the individual to identify weaknesses and strengths 1 0

  12. 12. How to be a coach A degree in sports management may be obtained from various educational institutions. Applicant for these diploma programmed must haver complete 10+2 or an equivalent . The institute started one year sports coaching DURATION 1 year Eligibility Graduation in any subject from any recognized Indian/foreign university Diploma course in sports coaching from SAI and NSNIS ,with maximum 60-65% marks 1 2
