The Australian ORCID story began on a cold winter morning in Canberra….
Roundtable initiated by ANDS and CAUL – bringing together heads of research offices and uni libraries together with ARC, NHMRC, CSIRO and Laurel Haak from ORCID
Flavour of the meeting – ORCID can help solve problems we are all grappling with especially tracking research outputs for our researchers, by using a common unique persistent identifier that is global, open source and has a rapidly growing uptake
Room asked funders to mandate ORCIDs but the answer was no, the sector is not ready. But they heard us…a seed was planted and it grew and grew and grew…
