Hi friends I am Parth Mahajan and this slide is about World Heritage Sites in India.The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Sites are important places of cultural or natural heritage as described in the UNESCO World Heritage Convention, established in 1972.[1]
There are 38 World Heritage Sites located in India. These include 30 cultural sites, 7 natural sites and 1 mixed-criteria site.[2] India has the sixth largest number of sites in the world.[
2. A) World Heritage Site
1) A world Heritage Site is a place of special cultural,
historical, scientific or physical importance recognized by
United Nations Educational, Scientific and cultural
Origination ( UNESCO) .
2) These sites could includes forests, mountains, lakes,
monuments, buildings, complex's or cities.
3) The aim of recognizing any site as heritage is to ensure
its conservisingtion for the future.
4) Such reconisiontion respects the site and makes
internationally famous.
5) Presently, there are 36 World heritage sites in India.
4. .Taj Mahel :-
1) The Taj Mahel is the cultural icon of India.
2)It displays the glory and grandeur of Mughal Empire.
3) It is a white marble mausoleum and stands on banks of
River Yamuna.
4) It was built by Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan in the
seventeenth century CE. He built in the memory of his wife
Begum Mamutaz Mahal.
5) It was the most expensive of its period and took 22 years
to complete.
5. 6) Millions of tourists and dignitaries visit it every year.
7) The Taj Mahal is in fact one of the seven wonders of
the world.
8) The Taj Mahal is finest piece of Mughal architecture
Combines Persian and Indian styles.
9) It stands at the center of a square platform
surrounded by gardens and water channels.
10) It contains the graves of the emperor and empress.
11) It is guarded by four minarets which are topped by
a kiosk chattri in each corner.
6. 12) Detailed floral carving, geometric designs,
beautiful calligraphy and precious stones adorn walls of
monument.
13) The walls are famous for inlay, stucco and jail
work.

Taj Mahal is turning yellow due to pollution. Gases like

white lusture.
11. • Red fort :-
1) The Red Fort or lal Quilla was construed by Saha
jahan
when he established Shahjanabad , present- day Delhi,
as his capital in the seventh century CE.
2) it is a national monument.
3) On every Indenpence Day, our Prime Minister hoists
the national flag at Red Fort addresses the nation from
there.
4) The Red Fort is made up of red sand stone, hence its
name.
5) It is a large complex which houses serval royal
buildings.
12. 6) The Divani- I- Aim and Divani- I- Khas where halls for
public and private purposes by emporer,respectively.
7) The famous Peacock Throne of Shah Jahan was seated in
the Divani- I- Aim.
8) Rang Mahal was the place for queens.
9) It over looks the Yamuna.
10) Moti Masjid the mosque, Naqqar Khana is the entrance
gate and Meena Bazar is the famous market inside the fort.
11) Chandi Chowk and Jama Majid are located just oppsite
to it.
14. • Kazringa National Park :-
1) Kazringa National Park in Assam is world famous
national park for its success is conservation of one horned
Indian Risnosours.
2) It also provides habitat for a number of threatened
species and migratory birds.
3) It is spered along banks of mighty Brahmaputra river
on the north lush green Karbi Anglong hills on the south.
4) It is haven for Royal Bengal Tiger.
5) So, It is also as tiger reserve.
6) Asian Elephant, Wild Asiatic Water Buffalo, hoolock
gibbons , barashinga, sambar, and Gharial are other
species that live in its grassland.
15. 7) The Great Indian Hornbill and Indian Vulture are some
birds varieties.
8) Apart from these, Karzinga also has a rich varity of
vegetation.
18. Sun Temple, Kornak :-
1) The Sun Temple at Kornak in Odisha Is sacred Hindu temple.
2) It is marvelous specimen of architecture.
3) It was built by Narsimadeva I of East Ganga Dynasty.
4) It is built in his shape of his chariot.
5) It was built thirteenth century CE.
6) This Temple is one of well known temples in India.
7) It is also known as Black Pagoda.
8) Arciteculy, Sun temple adopts Kalinga style of architecture.
9) It is made up of sand stone.
10) Like a chariot, it has 24 wheels on its sides and led by seven
horses.
11) All these are intricately designed.
20. Mountain railways of India :-
1) The Mountain Railways of India represents the engraining
marvel of rail tracks on mountains.
2) So, they have been recognized as World Heritage Sites.
3) The Dargiling Himalayan Railway, Narlgiri Mountain railway,
and Kalka – Shimla Railway Collectively as heritage sites.
4) They constitute the Himalayas and Western Ghats.
5) The rail routes was commissioned by British during their rule.
6) Most of the railways are in still in operation.
7) They run on steam engines and are some of the few narrow
gauge train in the world.
8) These trains wind across a rugged mountains terrain at a very
high evolution and provide a scenic view of a region .
21. 9) Initially, the trains served as the only link between the hill
stations and the foot hills.
10) Today, they are popular tourist attrition.
