Kinoshita, Y. (2007). Modified grounded theory
approach. Tokyo: Kobundo (in Japanese).
Results
The results showed that
《Finding strength》 was followed by
《Grasping strength of the elderly》,
and 《Nursing approach utilizing
strength》 was finally introduced.
When the patients’ clinical condition
is relatively stable, the nurses’
practice was divided into three
subcategories: 【Intervention
utilizing strength】. 【Intervention
moderating strength】, and
【Intervention building base of
strength】.
Conclusion
The results suggest that in the practice of care for the elderly who make a
living with change of their physical condition affected by illness and aging,
nurses need to focus on the strengths of the elderly as well as to believe in
the ability of the elderly. In addition, nurses should support the independent
living of the elderly considering stabilization of their clinical condition.
