2. Science must increase our faith. It is wrong for
anyone to close their eyes to what is right in front
of them. For a Muslim the evidence of dinosaurs
and fossils is not a threat to our beliefs. Rather, it
is a confirmation of the power of Allah.

4. The Universe, Who is its Creator?

How this universe was created?

5. We cannot see the Wind, but we can feel the Wind
… the Wind exists
Humans’ senses cannot sense the existence of Allah, the
creator of Universe!!

6. We cannot see electricity, but electricity exist.
(what you can see is the wire, bulb, light etc.)

7. How many molecular things like a
nucleus (hair divided in millions) that
cannot be seen by people, yet exist?

8. Very recently, scientists have been able to
take picture of atoms by using a powerful
microscope.
A particle with the size ~ 6 x 12 nm where
white spots are the ATOMS

9. The human ability to see colours is limited to certain frequencies.
People can only hear limited frequencies as well

10. These things exist, yet humans’ senses are very limited, so we cannot sense their
existence. Scientists are developing techniques to understand their existence…

11. In the Quran Allah explains that He is the creator of Heaven, Stars, the
Sun, the Moon, and others: Surat Al-Furqan, verse 61

Most blessed is He Who set a constellation in the heavens, and
placed in it a great lamp and a shining moon.

Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars which
you (can) see, then He established Himself on ‘Arsh (the
Throne of authority) and subjected the sun and the moon,
each one runs unto an appointed term.

13. Surah Al-Waqi`ah – Verse 63 - 64
‫ﱠ‬‫م‬ ‫م‬ُ‫ت‬ْ‫ي‬َ‫ء‬َ‫ر‬َ‫ف‬َ‫أ‬ َ‫ون‬ُ‫ن‬ْ‫م‬ُ‫ت‬ ‫ا‬‫ﱠ‬‫م‬ ‫م‬ُ‫ت‬ْ‫ي‬َ‫ء‬ َ‫ر‬َ‫ف‬َ‫أ‬َ‫ون‬ُ‫ث‬ُ‫ر‬ْ‫ح‬َ‫ت‬ ‫ا‬
And have you seen that [seed] which you cultivate?

Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?

14. Surah Al-Waqi`ah – Verse 68 - 69

And have you seen the water that you drink?

Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is
it We who bring it down?

15. Surah Al-Waqi`ah – Verse 71 - 72
َ‫ون‬ُ‫ور‬ُ‫ت‬ ‫ى‬ِ‫ت‬‫ﱠ‬‫ٱل‬ َ‫ار‬‫ﱠ‬‫ن‬‫ٱل‬ ُ‫م‬ُ‫ت‬ْ‫ي‬َ‫ء‬َ‫ر‬َ‫ف‬َ‫أ‬
And have you seen the fire that you ignite?

Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the
producer?

16. People who think and study a lot about universe
will believe that there is an ALLAH
(The Creator of the Universe)

18. ِ‫ع‬ُ‫ي‬ ‫ﱠ‬‫م‬ُ‫ث‬ َ‫ق‬ْ‫َل‬‫خ‬ْ‫ال‬ ُ‫ه‬‫ـ‬‫ﱠ‬‫الل‬ ُ‫ئ‬ِ‫د‬ْ‫ب‬ُ‫ي‬ َ‫ْف‬‫ي‬َ‫ك‬ ‫ا‬ ْ‫و‬ َ‫ر‬َ‫ي‬ ْ‫م‬َ‫ل‬ َ‫و‬َ‫أ‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫د‬‫ي‬ٌ‫ير‬ِ‫س‬َ‫ي‬ ِ‫ه‬‫ـ‬‫ﱠ‬‫الل‬ ‫ى‬َ‫ل‬َ‫ع‬ َ‫ك‬ِ‫ل‬َٰ‫ذ‬ ‫ﱠ‬‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬ ۚ◌
Do they not see how Allah originates/begins the Creation, then
repeats it? That is easy for Allah (to do) (19).

Say: “Travel through the Earth and see how He originated/
began the Creation. Then, Allah makes the latter Creation.
Allah is capable of (doing) everything” (20).
Al-Ankaboot, 19 - 20

19. Surah Al-Anbiya 30
َ‫و‬ ِ‫ت‬‫ا‬ َ‫او‬َ‫م‬‫ﱠ‬‫س‬‫ال‬ ‫ﱠ‬‫ن‬َ‫أ‬ ‫وا‬ُ‫ر‬َ‫ف‬َ‫ك‬ َ‫ين‬ِ‫ذ‬‫ﱠ‬‫ال‬ َ‫ر‬َ‫ي‬ ْ‫م‬َ‫ل‬ َ‫و‬َ‫أ‬َ‫ن‬ْ‫ق‬َ‫ت‬َ‫ف‬َ‫ف‬ ً‫ا‬‫ق‬ْ‫ت‬َ‫ر‬ ‫ا‬َ‫ت‬َ‫ن‬‫ا‬َ‫ك‬ َ‫ض‬ ْ‫ر‬َ‫ﻷ‬‫ا‬‫ا‬َ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ا‬

Have not those who disbelieve seen (known) that the heavens
and the Earth were of one connected entity, then We
splintered (separated) them, and We made every living
thing out of water? Will they not then believe?
Did not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the
earth were joined together as one united piece? Then We
parted them? And We have created every living thing from
water. Will they not then believe?

This universe had been in the form of a single great unit of blazing
vapour that, as a result of some different inward explosions and
movements, it gradually divided into parts and the stars and planets,
including the solar system and the earth, and the universe is still
expanding…

21. Interpretation/Commentary -2:
The purpose of this joining is the monotony of the substances of the
universe, so that all of them were gathered in one another and formed a
single matter. But, as the time passed, the substances separated from
each other, and formulated new substances (some new compounds
appeared).
Thus, many kinds of plants, animals, and other creatures existed in the
heaven and the earth. These beings are in a condition that each of them
has a special system and some effects and properties particular to itself.
Every one of them is a sign for the infinite Knowledge, the Glory and the
Might of Allah

22. Interpretation/Commentary -3:
At the beginning, the heaven/sky was closed in the sense that at first it did
not rain, and the earth was closed in the sense that it did not grow any
vegetation, then Allah opened the heaven/sky, and its stated to rain and
opened the earth to grow plants.

23. Interpretation/Commentary -1:
This world had been in the form of a single great unit of blazing
vapor that, as a result of some different inward explosions and
movements, it gradually divided into parts and the stars and planets,
including the solar system and the earth, and the universe is still
expanding.

Then, He directed Himself to the heaven while it was
smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come (into
being), willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have
come willingly“
Then He rose over towards the heaven when it was
smoke and said unto it and unto the earth “Come both of
you willingly or unwillingly [and take shape].” They both
said: “We come willingly [took shape].”
Surah Fussilat, verse 11

25. Allah, praise to Him, tells us that He built the heavens,
which are continuously expanding, as stated in “Surah Al-
Dhariyat, 51: 47”
ِ‫إ‬ َ‫و‬ ٍ۬‫د‬ْ‫ي‬ۡ‫ي‬َ‫أ‬ِ‫ب‬ ‫ا‬َ‫ه‬ٰ‫ـ‬َ‫ن‬ۡ‫َي‬‫ن‬َ‫ب‬ َ‫ء‬ٓ‫ا‬َ‫م‬‫ﱠ‬‫س‬‫ٱل‬ َ‫و‬‫ون‬ُ‫ع‬ِ‫س‬‫و‬ُ‫م‬َ‫ل‬ ‫ا‬‫ﱠ‬‫ن‬
We have built the heaven with (the power of Our) hands,
and We are expanding (it).
Surah Al-Dhariyat, 47

26. Scientific Statement …
The common origin of all the space and matter
The violent separation that created all the
matter in the Universe.
Statement from Surah Al-Anbiya 30 …
Have not those who disbelieve (known) that
 the heavens and the earth were both joined
 then we splintered them apart

27. Everything that was there must
have been compressed into one
inconceivably dense point.
Something happened, triggering
the most enormous explosion that
ever happened in the universe.

28. In 1927, a Belgian cosmologist and
a Catholic priest…
GEORGES LEMAITRE proposed a
theory…known as Big Bang theory
This theory is basically an effort to explain
what happened at the very beginning of our
universe…
This theory indicates that in the past,
these elements were closer than today,
so if we go in the back time, all the
matter was together at one point. This
point is called singularity….
It is the model that describes the early
discovery of universe.

30. Scientific proof – support of the Big Bang theory….
1. The Big Bang happened 13.7 billion years ago.
2. The universe started to expand from one spot.
3. Space and time were created in the Big Bang.
4. All the planets and stars are moving away from each other.
5. Edwin Hubble observed universal expansion.
6. As the universe expanded, more matter was created.
7. Isotopes of hydrogen, helium and lithium are abundant in
universe.
8. Scientists discovered that the Earth receives microwave
radiation from all directions.

31. More than 13 billion years, there was nothing:
• no matter,
• no energy,
• no space…
Scientists needed a way to explain that
• how everything began?
• Where it came from?
• What happened?
Although there are several theories about the origin of the
universe, the Big Bang theory is prevalent one because no
other model is as good at explaining everything in the universe.
The Big Bang theory is not perfect,
but it is the best we have got.

32. How could an illiterate man who lived 1400 years ago
have known that the heavens were smoke at the
beginning (as a result of the explosion which splintered
them)?
How could an illiterate man who lived 1400 years ago
have known about the expansion of the universe?
