2. Start spreading the News!!
• Hi My name is Ian Pratt
• @sciencelabman is my twitter name.
• I am a middle school Science teacher From
Bedford in the UK.
• I love to use teachnology !! ( technology to
enhance teaching and learning!)

3. Where did this idea come from?
• Religious reflection
• Communicating about whole school issues
• Getting a message to everyone
• Lack of time and space for whole school
assemblies

4. What tech did I use..?
• In the beginning a very simple low cost flip
camera.
• A large pile of science text books !!
• Schools computer network

5. But now I use…
• A HD digital video camera
• And a Tripod.
• But the equipment works both ways. Its what
you or your kids do that matters.

6. What do we do?
• Shoot a 5 minute news broad cast
• Upload it to the school network
• All classes view it at there own time.
• The Biggest challenge was getting the teachers
to use the computers in school to access it.

7. What Impact has the project had?
• On the pupils
• On the teachers
• On the SLT
• On the school

8. What is the key message…?
• Simple to do
• Low Tech.
• Enhances communication
• Builds relationships
