Our achievements in 2015
• Joint techUK/UKspace Satellite Telecommunications committee meetings
• There were 4 satellite committee meetings in 2015; Jan, April, July, Oct.
• Joint techUK/UKspace positioning, navigation and timing committee (PNTC)
• First joint meeting took place in Nov.
• Help promote the satellite & space industry (via insights)
• The contribution of Space and Satellite industry to the UK economy
• Return from Public Space Investments: An initial analysis of evidence
• Consultation responses
• Review of spectrum fees - For fixed links and satellite services
• Strategic review of satellite and space science use of spectrum
• Promote the satellite / space industry through events and conferences
• Satellite Applications & Services conference 2015 – 2nd Oct 2015
• techUK/BSG event ‘Britain's Digital Infrastructure: boosting our growth and productivity’
• Help develop consensus and standards
• Organised Radio Equipment Directive (RED) Webinar on GNSS receivers in conjunction with Ofcom &
ETSI – helping kick-start the development of RED standards for GNSS receivers

Targets for 2016
• 4 x Joint techUK/UKspace Satellite Telecommunications committee meetings
• 4 x Joint techUK/UKspace positioning, navigation and timing committee (PNTC)
• Help promote the satellite & space industry (via insights)
• Consultation responses
• Promote the satellite / space industry through events and conferences
• The role of Satellites in connected and autonomous vehicles (2nd March 2016) – bringing transport
stakeholders together with satellite/space industry
• Connected Rail / Transport event (21st March 2016) – bringing comms infrastructure stakeholders
with satellite/space industry
• Smart cities – will be run on behalf of CTOs’ council but will bring various verticals including
space/satellite community (10th May 2016)
• 2nd Satellite Applications & Services conference (3rd October 2016) – themes have yet to be
identified for this conference.
